Make sure and install the 1.03 patch, with that, there is an added setting (seen by running the cfg.bat configuration program) to allow you to reverse the axis on your joystick. Mapping different buttons is usually done with software that came with your joystick though. Madmatt

Okay, try this: 1. Right-click on "My Computer" 2. Select "Properties" 3. Click on the "Advanced" Tab. 4. Click on the Performance "Settings" Button 5. Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab 6. Verify that "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" is selected. If's not, select that option and then try and run the game. If the crash persistes, go back and select the other option "turn on DEP for all windows programs and services EXCEPT those I select" and ADD SC2.exe and Editor.exe as an excluded applications. Reboot and then try and see if it continues to crash. Madmatt

Please have your friend email support@battlefront.com with as much detail as he can. By the way, are you sure its IRP issues and not something else? In all my years of computer support, I have never heard of that term... The only thing similar would be IRQ mbut that is hardware specific and would not have been caused by software. Of course Windows does have this knack of waiting to go belly up until someone installs a new game or program. Never have figured that one out... Madmatt

A (0xc0000005) type error is traditionally caused by a faulty install (or corrupt file) in DirectX. I would recommend reinstalling that first then seeing what happens. Just a quick heads-up that we released an updated Strategic Command 2 demo today. It now includes the full 153 page PDF manual, a Demo Tutorial guide and a few small gameplay tweaks including new pop-up text descriptions for all the buttons. Well, technically, EVERYONE that orders it before it ships is a pre-order, so there is no "everyone else", you guys are all pre-ordered customers right now. Update, just got some good news that we have more bandwidth so will be opening up the throttle on the server some. I just checked and was able to connect and get right in. Madmatt

Hi Kyros, We are implementing full download support here shortly. In fact, as you may have seen from the forum, some people are downloading right now, but at the moment download spots are limited (until the server vendor can get us the bandwidth they had originally promised). If you want to pre-order right now, you WILL be able to download (maybe as early as tomorrow) AND you will also get the CD and printed manual, and you will get BOTH for 10 bucks less than the cost for both (download and CD with Manual both) will be once the game is in stock (45 as opposed to 55 bucks). So, you can pre-order now, and we will email you once your download is ready, or wait another day or two while we get the kinks worked out of the download system a little more. Either way, you WILL be able to download the full game before it ships. Madmatt

You will get that bad file error if the file ends up being less than about 115 megs or so. That happened to some people tonight because we had to reset all the connections at one point (sorry about that, couldn't help it). If you can get reconnected, you should be able to get the whole file. I would however, recommend deleting the old (smaller) file first. These download servers DO support download resuming, but if the first part of the file is corrupt, resuming it won't always work. Best to start fresh. Madmatt

It's not a set amount of people as such, its basically a bandwith type throttle right now. Madmatt

Right, thats the error I mentioned above. We are working on getting IIS to accept a page with a little more info than just that stock 503 "Service Unavailable" message. But basically, what your seeing is due to all the available download slots are used up. Madmatt
