  1. Anyone who signed up for the first beta tournament needs to sign up for Beta Tournament 2. The issue that @ratdeath discovered has been cleared up. It's possible that Matrix may email everyone who had signed up.
  2. Yes, in a bit you'll be asked to re-join the tournament using Beta 2. @ratdeath found somefink that required that we reset it up.
  3. I was really on the fence because 50 days is a loooooooonnnnnnnnngggg time per round. I wanted to make sure that everyone had enough time. If people finish early then they sit back and wait for Round 2 to start.
  4. Yes, because I set them. 50 days per round. One round is 50 minutes and I think another is 45. I wanted to make sure everyone has enough time.
  5. No but you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. If you were to complete the game (DON'T DO THAT) any units remaining on the map would count as casualties. Any units that have exited won't nor will they if you stop playing the battle before the end of turns (DO THIS). The disadvantage is that you don't have those units to inflict casualties.
  6. We've changed the start date until April 6th to get this fixed.
  7. No. That isn't it. Thanks for the heads up. Working to clear that up now.
  8. I just gave mine the dismount orders. I'll keep an eye on mine. Anyone else see this?
  9. We love money at Battlefront but you should never repurchase one of our games that you already own. If you run into a problem, open a Help Desk ticket and we'll help you out. We have absolutely no control over the icons on Steam installations. I suppose if we really hated one and raised a stink they would probably listen to us. The interesting thing is that the Matrix version uses the same icons as the Battlefront versions!
  10. Combat Mission: Shock Force 2 Beta Tournament Join the first tournament for Combat Mission: Shock Force 2. Due to this being the first one, we are classifying this as ‘Beta Tournament’, so please bear with us if there are any issues. The Tournament will begin March 16th and you can join now. This Tournament will feature the new Tournament scoring system. So, unlike the current Cold War Tournament, you'll want to finish each battle. This Tournament will feature 3 rounds with 3 different scenarios. Round 1: Matrix Tournament #1: A 25 minute battle of a US patrol against a Syrian ambush. Round 2: Ambush in al Fubar: A 50 minute battle. Stryker platoon is stopped by an ambush. Rescue is on its way, but will it be too late?. Round 3: Wadi Scouts: A 45 minute battle. Stryker cavalry unit is tasked with scouting out defenses along a Wadi. Before joining the tournament, please take a moment and carefully read these instructions that are specific to all Combat Mission Tournaments!!! - Because of the way that Combat Mission’s original “play by email” system works, both game files have an in-game field for password protection of the file. This field should be left blank. For the US side the password has been selected before the battles were sent and that field is to be left blank. You can use a password for the Russian side but it isn’t needed because the Tournament feature handles protection from cheating without using the in game system. - The Tournament will have you playing 2 individual battles where you are playing both sides of the same battle. If you get into the game before your opponent, you will see 1 game turn to play. If your opponent has gotten there first then you will see 2 turn files and each turn thereafter should have 2 files. - Once a tournament begins you will receive the files in the "Saved Game and PBEM" drop menu under Automated PBEM++ In Progress. You will receive email notifications when your opponent has sent you turns. - You will need a Matrix user name and password to play any tournament (or PBEM++ battle). If you don't have one already you can get one here: https://www.matrixgames.com/login Sign up now either through the game or here
  11. Try using the PayPal method. You don't even need a PayPal account to do it. Just make sure that you follow all of the steps: https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/127863
  12. That isn't their fault. That is ours. During testing we tested very tiny battles to get through them in a reasonable amount of time. The current tournament that we're playing will run for over 3 months by the time it's finished. That's a very long time to test, especially if there is an issue that gets fixed and the testing has to start again. The running score that we see for each Round has never been based on the final in game CM score. It was only intended to give player a feel for who was doing better. Then, at the end of the battle, the final in game Combat Mission score replaces the running score. It became apparent early in the first Round of this tournament that the running score was going to be MUCH higher than the end game Combat Mission score. That would take away the incentive for the player to finish. If the running score shows you with 13,000 points but after you complete the battle that is replaced by an in game score of 550 (for example), you would have a higher tournament score by simply not completing the battle. Which is why, for this tournament we are asking people to not complete their battles. Combat Mission was never designed to track in game scoring. No score can be tabulated until a battle is complete. The amount of coding to do that would be astronomical. So, we needed a workaround for the problem. Here's what we've done. Each turn of a tournament battle will push out 3 points for the player that causes the highest casualties and 1 point for the other player (0 points if no casualties are caused by either player). When a battle is completed the final score will be the in game Combat Mission score. We need to make sure the running number is low enough so that there is no way the in game score will be lower than the running score, once the battle is finished. That can be done by the scenario designer. This will give the players the incentive to complete the battles and get their higher scores. This scoring change has been done for a while and is in the most recent patches for Black Sea and Shock Force 2 (it's actually in Battle for Normandy already too). It will be added to Cold War once the current tournament is finished. Make sense?
  13. Weird. You shouldn't be able to do that, Unless the internet connection is so wonky that the turn never processes. I can't tell what the original poster is playing either.
  14. Yeah. Like finished PBEM++ it will remain on the In Progress list for 30 days.
  15. I'm not sure what the message is saying. Who "closed" a battle for cheating? Slitherine? I am aware of his ticket to Slitherine support because they also contacted me to see if I had any idea how he would have gotten a wrong game file. You shouldn't be able to open turns multiple times. Once you've played your turn it should disappear from the list.
  16. The scoring system for Cold War is borked (technical term). It has been drastically changed in the latest CMSF2 and Black Sea patches. When they are released on Steam and Matrix we're going to hold a public beta tournament to test out the revised scoring system. The Round 2 scenario particularity shows in what way it is borked. The example that you saw highlights it. EDIT: I just went and looked at your Round 2 scores. DALBY is the player that received a game turn from someone else's battle and wasn't able to advance that one. That oddity is being check out by Slitherine. No one has been able to tell me yet how that happened. No one else had that happen, did they?
  17. Yeah, thanks. We had great seats. I thought of you just before I left.
  18. I'll let Slitherine know that the email notifications have been spotty. This battle has been nuts. I don't think that my opponent is on our forums. Our battles are coming right down to the wire. Round 2 will end today. I think at 17:15GMT (Going dark for a bit. @Warts 'n' all, I'm seeing my boy Elvis tonight in Atlantic City. Pretty stoked.)
  19. The_Capt used a map that was made for the Cold War module. The location of the battle is outside the Cold War area of operations.
  20. No, but that's funny! Although I guess it is, just not the one @The_Capt was referring to. I'll give it another day It does have to do with the map.
  21. https://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/video/best-play-ever-nominee-philly-special Yes, it was possibly the greatest play in Eagles history and happened in their Super Bowl win 5 years ago. There is even a bronze statue outside the stadium (at the entrance I use to get to my seats. I use the gate in this picture) of when the coach and quarterback were calling the play. It will forever be part of Eagle lore and worthy of being my first tattoo. And now back to our continuing praise of the return of Paper Tiger and his work.
  22. This one is going to take a very long time to heal. My youngest daughter started doing tattoos on people. She got the kit on the Amazons. She doesn't do a bad job (yatsbyry on Instagram). For fathers day she wanted to give me my first tattoo, I'd been talking about it for 5 years. I finally let her do it in January. If you know, you know.
