1. Turret rotation and hull rotation of tanks in CMBB

    has been confusing me a lot lately.

    So I went and looked up info.

    From russian armor history books for T-34-85

    it is stated that turret had electrical motor for

    rotation. Maximum was 4.2 RPM.

    In tests on elite tanks in CMBB the turret turns 180 degrees in 20 sec. In other words rotation speed is 1.5 RPM.

    This seems a bit too slow even on the battlefield.

    Would anyone elaborate on this ?

  2. Personal Info, eh ?

    I know this is unAmerican to lie, but did any of you consider giving personal information like:

    Joe Shmoe

    123 Any Street, Anytown, Angola, 12345

    If they need e-mail for confirmation, just make some box on Yahoo.

    It's amazing how people here can play such a complex game, but are unable to figure such simple tricks.

  3. I wonder if it would be more life-like to have cuptured troops sometimes yell "I surrunder" in the language of the enemy. I remember talking to my grandfather and he confirmed than many of his comrades knew such words in german. It was considered smart to ask not to shoot in the language of the enemy, chances are they'll understand you better smile.gif

    Same goes for russians yelling "hande hoh !" to captured germans.

    Would you guys (BTS) consider adding such sounds ?

  4. I am sorry if this has been descussed before (it must have been but search didn't give anything usefull) so here's the deal:

    Why dug-in tanks remain stationary in battle. Don't know about US and Germans, but in russian tank manuals it was clearly stated that When digging in, tank crew must make sure that tank can get out easily.

    What are the prospects for CMBB ?

  5. This one isn't showstopper but would be nice if it didn't make it into CMBB.

    Greyhound and halftrack were driving into opposite directions. Once Greyhound came close, game engine "calculated" 0% hit probability, he started targeting something else. 20 seconds later halftrack wasted my M8.

  6.
quote:
In any case, it cannot be modeled due to the physics model in the current CM engine. It might go into consideration for the engine rewrite however.

    I didn't really mean for a tank to have an order such as "Drive over Him". But a mere

    ....................................

    if (collision with vehicle && itIsFriendly) then moveItOutOfTheWay();

    if (collision with vehicle && itIsEnemy)

    then makeItBlowUp();

    .....................................

    This isn't a showstopper but only a nice touch. Like in that russian anekdote "Minor feature, but pleasant"

  7. In the very same scenario I had Panzer IVG attack M3A1 Scout car - it happened so that tank was moving FAST and missed his first shot, so he basically keept on going and moved scout car some 5 meters before killing it with another shot. In real life that car would be dead from collision.

    In eastern front damaged russian tanks _on_occasion_ would ram enemy tanks to damage or destroy them. While the chance of such an event is rare in CM, it would be nice if enemy vehicle (at least soft one) would be destroyed when enemy tank rams it.

    Just a thought smile.gif
