Trenches

Hello,

When I buy trenches in quick battles I can't change their facing during setup, is this a bug or intended? Sandbag walls for example allow me to change the facing. This makes it hard to utilize trenches because I can't put them side to side to make long trenches. Other than this little oddity I've enjoyed the game very much

As designed, you have to have a minimum of 2 sections, put next to each other and they will face whichever way you put them.

When you put two trench tiles next to each other they will "click" together in the direction you want.

A single tile, though, you cannot set a direction.

Once 2 trenches are in adjacent hexes, the trenches will join and the facing will change. But the facing won't be sticky.

Even the form of a trench will change, e.g. if you put 3 trenches into a V-pattern.

I do hope at some point it becomes possible to place single trenches at angles other than those allowed by the terrain grid. I understand that having adjacent trenches snap together in the appropriate orientation is also appropriate.

Being able to put foxholes immediately 'behind' another foxhole should be easier than it seems to be at the moment.

I'm actually surprised ther'es been so few question about placing trenches and barbed wire. I've got to tip my hat to the players for figuring 'em out quicker than some of the Beta guys did.
