  1. have you checked for the right click mouse settings? might be that it is set as a left click?
  2. Last push by the remaining german troops in Russia is aimed at Odessa - germans manage to kill some infantry and reconquer the mine east of Kiew. In return, the Allies unleash hell from the air and together with strong russian armour, manage to capture Berlin and Munich! Germany surrenders to USA for 1059 mpps Simultaneously, Allies liberate France, Portugal and Benelux. The only remaining axis powers are Japan and ... Finland And it is only 1943, so plenty of time for the Allies to defeat Japan.
  3. Germans kill some infantry near Rostow and the russian tank defending the mine east of Kiew as well as a red tank near Kursk. German TAC destroyed by a red fighter intercept. Retaliation is terrible - 3 Tigers killed, 1 TAC killed, 11 str TAC damaged to strength 1, russians retake Moscow, Kursk. Rostow retaken by red army, several armies and corps leave their positions near Stalingrad and march west. UK minor corps operated to cover Sevastopol area, used as an air base. Partisans pop near Minsk. Russian armour coming from Belgrad area kill a HQ near Munich. Breslau captured by commies. UK minor troops capture Marseilles, liberating Vichy. Barcelona captured via amphib landing. Berlin under attack by english troops landing at hamburg. D-Day begins! American troops led by HQ Bradley and supported by USN carriers capture Brest. Americans have 2 armies, corps and 2 armour in western France, bordering Paris. Ceylon - USN carriers maul badly the stranded jap paratrooper. USA don't bother anymore to send ground troops anywhere. 4 armies, corps and tank stationed in the homeland, ready to repel any invasion
  4. Sorry to hijack a bit this thread but, can you guys tell me how long a turn takes to play? (pre and post barbarossa) Is it feasible for TCP/IP or e-mail is the way to go?
  5. Last turn, German mounted a powerful counter towards Rostow (the obvious choice for a counter in order to separate the 2 main russian theatres) - killed various red infantry and the HQ in the city and occupied it In return, red armour coming from Stalingrad attack and destroy a HQ in Voronezh and paratrooper seize the city. Army destroyed near the russian mine; german paratrooper killed near Rostow, UK allied minor corps and a british army transported from Greece to the fortification behind Rostow (Rostow port still russian). Meanwhile in Europe, Russians capture Vienna. Red and allied forces shoot towards Berlin/Munich. British army coming from Oslo land and destroy Hamburg lvl 4 fighter (str 5) defender and another amphib (US corps) coming from England seize the city. In the Med, carriers kill the bomber camped in Marseille. Malta bomber somehow suicided - I think I forgot to count the german intercepts still available In India, Allies kill a Jap TAC (I think).
  6. Expecting the german counterattack on Rome, the allies carefully placed additional airpower in the peninsula and employed a new US carrier which previously bombarded Gibraltar in order to make its way in the med. The result, german tiger near Rome killed by surface ships , TACs and carriers, german corps in Rome (which had liberated Italy last turn) is killed and Italy surrenders again. Allies reach the river in northern Italy. In S-E Europe, Yugoslavia is liberated and Hungary surrenders to USSR. Russian defend the line Kiew-central russian mine and Rostow-Stalingrad-Kuybishew. Red airforce upgraded to lvl 4. Germans show several experienced heavy tanks near Harkow - counterattack expected. In India, jap paradrop on Ceylon fails due to the presence of canadian bomber. Allies continue to force intercepts but detect a massive air armada north and west of Burma. Indian troops retreat a tile. Russian and US production queue contain 6-7 units each, UK's only 3 (UK needs lots of cash to repair). USA gains 660 mpps (lots transferred to UK) UK 300 and Russia 450+. The mpp differential shifted clearly towards the Allies, the only german strength now lies in their tanks, TACs and fighters. But they are needed on way too many fronts now ^^
  7. Allies air based in Turkey and ground troops coming from Bulgaria destroy the minor lvl 4 fighter in Athens and liberate Greece. Massive air strike (land based TACs and carriers) kill the Rome defender and US corps knock Italy out of the war for a 450 mpp plunder. German tiger nearby so Rome could be recaptured next turn though. Belgrad under attack by combined allied and red troops. Russians at the outskirts of Budapest as well. In the north, russian units coming from the Urals take positions on the river by Kuybishev. Partisans wreak havoc in Russia, they pop out everywhere (3 are alive and doing damage this turn I think). In India, rather quiet , just the usual intercepts forced by superior allied air, to keep Jap fighters' strength low. First serious encounter between US Pacific fleet and IJN off Ceylon = IJN BB destroyed. In this game, the USA is well...what USA was IRL ^^ Monstrous fleet and air assets, ability to deploy fast almost everywhere and a huge mpp base now (almost 750 mpps per turn). And it is spring '43.
  8. Russians capture Kiew. Combined russian-british attacks earn UK the nice country of Bulgaria. Allies capture Naples and prepare for the assault on Rome (bombarded and pretty much cut off by american corps that landed 1 turn before) Russian TAC pings a Tiger west of Stalingrad. In India, 2 armies come out fo the queue; allied airpower attack an empty city in order to force Japs to intercept. Lots of moves all around the map, around locations not available to the general public
  9. Russian troops enter Romania, army covering the Ploiesti oilfield destroyed. Kiew pinged. Russians capture Kuybishev, left undefended by germans. Partisans continue to pop out in various locations. German tanks spotted northwest of Rostow. Snowy weather. In India, despite Colin' retreat 1-2 tiles back, the long air arm of Uncle Sam reaches him - 1 spec ops unit killed by USAF. Allied air is carefully trying to stay away from IJN carriers' range, so far no air losses for the Indian air task force.
  10. The Allies DoW and capture Turkey. Russians attack and capture Odessa. Due to allied aggression, Romania joins Axis. In India, USAF maul badly a japanese army and indian corps finishes it off. I can see a pattern here More USAF bombers operated in India. Taking India will be a veeeery costly affair for the Sun-Emperor ^^ RN knock out Gibraltar harbour, allied ships pour in the Med. In this game, USA is a monster...an air monster mainly for now but the queue is full of armor and infantry
  11. Finally a clear weather turn in India = 1 japanese army badly damaged by USAF and then killed by IW2 Indian corps. In Russia, red southern task force attacks over the river a german army defending the southern mine and kills it. In the north, there is a massive armoured assault by Colin - Russian tank coming from Kuybishev engages a german Tiger and kills it. Left at 5 str, the red tank will surely be killed next turn and the city captured. From now on, this kind of exchanges favours the allied side. RN BBs attack Gibraltar harbour. Allies move A LOT of pieces around the map. This game's gonna be definitely interesting.
  12. Colin attacks in the northern part of Russia, I decided to go for the southern part Red troops from Rostow area ordered to move forward. Otherwise, calm, xcept for a declaration of war by USA against Germany (strangely, they were at peace). Rain prevents me to use my air assets in India, only colin has this privilege, during his turn China finally dead.
  13. Game 1 - Colin Axis RN retreats from the Baltic, no spotting available, i have no ideea what he operated (or not) in the area. Partisans continue to pop in russia - this time they liberate Leningrad Russia continues to build/upgrade units in preparation for the inevitable Axis onslaught - Russia is making around 450 mpps per turn (ofc with the convoy from UK). India - raining cats and dogs. China - don't really wanna talk about it We just throw corps in front of the advancing japanese in order to slow down their advance. USA is making lots of cash thanks to its high IT level - they bought A LOT of units, waiting for a proper deployment now.
  14. Game 1 - Colin Axis During Axis' turn, they retaliated agains tthe RN in the Baltic - not that much of a damage though. Allied turn - Allied airpower based in Norway and carriers attack Copenhagen, british army lands and kill the defending axis minor army, liberating the country! NZ cruiser attacks and sinks the str 1 jap amphib that survived last turn. China bracing for the inevitable. Russia continue the buildup - front line intact for now.
  15. Well nothing comes cheap - sacrifices have to be made. I won't lose any sleep over some boats sunk especially now that the german fleet is at the bottom. On the other hand, germans using tacs in west is good for Russia This game is far more balanced than any i've played lately, with Allies really capable of conducting major operations around the world. We will see how this will unfold - will Axis, with its excellent weaponry and experience prevail? Will USA be able to change the tide of war now that she is producing a very good amount of cash (IT lvl3) and sports a monster fleet plus soon the mightiest of the air armada ever seen? Time will tell ^^
  16. Game 1 - Colin Axis British forces enter the Baltic again in order to take revenge on the sunk BB - result, 1 german TAC killed by carriers. China is bombed to stone age, lots of units around last chinese capital, trying to buy time. US fighters stationed in the pacific isles north of New Zealand hit hard an amphib - survived at str 1 Russia behind the river running from Rostow to ... whatever those cities are named (gates of Urals) - we finished buying all fighters and tacs and an extra HQ and almost upgraded the entire army (tanks to lvl 4, infantry to 2/2). Line formed by corps mainly (a few armies as well) and in important places tanks, fortified in the cities.
  17. Hmmm I am thinking if the SC1/SC Blitzkrieg ideas wouldn't have been good for SCGC - air fleets which combine fighter and tacbomber operations and separately strategic bombers. You play with hardcaps so Axis can't buy a truckload of them plus UK home island would accommodate airfleets which act like a multirole - no need for double amount of tiles in order to make us of fighters AND Tacs. Also tanks without 2 strikes would be more balanced.
  18. yea, use the carriers against a fully fortified france , defended by 8 lvl 5 axis fighters The british isle is not big enough to accommodate enough fighters and TACs to support the carriers. I tried this vs Rambo's 'fortress France' , took paris and got beaten back so badly i thought i was dreaming. Despite fully upgraded US/UK fighters and TACs - you got tons of them but no room to place them And on the ground, by '44 axis have several 5 star units which are immortals. In my allied game vs Rambo (which i conceded in summer 44) I admit i did some mistakes but the big problem is USA comes in force way too late to be able to change things. I've learned my lesson and I will not attempt a D-Day in Normandy against that type of defence but instead pick remote areas where axis cannot fully deploy their might. But this bears the risk of being to late to threaten major axis objectives. I lost the game but did not play against a cookie cutter since Rambo is not the guy to play cookie cutters. He went all in , supper aggressive, even lost a fair share of units in russia but the incredible good axis economic position helped him replace the losses easily and beat my allies back without much sweat.
  19. Game 1 - Colin Axis UK DoWs and capture Algeria and Iraq. Algerian capitol was knocked out by army and tank and the city itself taken by the minor corps coming form Palermo (LW fighter appeared nearby Palermo). Russian partisans keep popping up, disrupting german rear. Indian place 2 corps coming from the queue near the front lines, to buy time. US fighters ping a japanese transport near Luganville. RN cruisers ping minor axis corps in Jutland. Game 2 - Hellraiser Axis The little russian manchurian adventure came to an abrupt end when Uncle Joe noticed the japanese paratroopers cutting his eastern task force off. Tsitsihar recaptured by Sushi-san corps. Only Manchouli remains in communist hands. Vladivostok occupied by jap marine unit. Massive german and italian landings in India - Colin tied up some units in Manchuria so India became the objective of the other axis ally At the end of my turn, USA took another 12% diplo hit -> 6% readiness now Now to the 'majors diplo' question. I only invested in diplomacy because Colin did it first and sweet tongued the USA. I had a maximum of 7 chits in USA (5 german and 2 jap). TBH, I don;t really like the diplo aspect, but it is in the game and must be dealt with. I think limiting (or even banning) diplo on majors would be in the interest of the weaker side i.e. the allies. If both germany and japan invest heavily in diplomacy it can have dire consequences as in this game (a total of -38% US readiness), despite some counter diplomacy by the UK. The allies can counteract effectively only after USSR is in the game and can oppose a max of 10 chits to Axis' potential 10 chits - which Colin should have probably done if he wanted USA faster in the game. Why Axis are favoured - Allies are pretty poor in this game and if the axis player forces UK and Russia to counteract diplomatically i.e. wasting mpps on chits, they become even poorer. Axis lose mpps to chits as well but they can overcome it more easily since their mpp base is excellent. @Colin - I think USA readiness increase faster post Pearl Harbour historical date. I am not 100% sure, I've read the script files some months ago. But if Axis diplo USA and the allies do not counteract diplomatically, it is entirely possible to keep USA out of the war for the larger part of it.
  20. Game 1 - Colin Axis Allies land and capture Palermo. RN blockade some french ports in order to reduce them. Russia aquires lvl 2 antitank weapons finally - upgrades ordered. Russian cruiser in Baltic pings a LW TAC near Koenigsberg. Partisan hits the same TAC. Game 2 - Hellraiser Axis Japanese decided to defend the approach to Seoul in case the russians are so bold to come that way. Carriers and TAC + marine kill the Vladivostock defender. Paratroopers capture Ulan Ude, intercepting the railway - those nice tanks in Manchuria can't be operated west for a while. Diplo success again - USA takes a 12% hit on readiness
  21. Game 1 - Colin Axis Partisans pop up all over russia UK DoWs and conquer Syria - Iraq says something ugly, i don't quite understand it - maybe they'll explain it in more detail once i enter Baghdad Russia is building things like crazy. China rebuilds whatever cheap units she has in order to delay the japs. Game 2 - Hellraiser Axis Super snow in Russia. Kiew conquered, Smolensk army damaged down to 2 str. German and minor corps steal the two southern russian mines - Urals event triggered ofc. Germany DoW and capture Tunisia, italians at work In a surprise move, axis iraqi corps lands in Karachi, damaging an aussie cruiser in port. Japan took defensive positions in Manchuria, bracing themselves for a possible russian attack. Lucky strike with diplo - super hit on USA 14% - US readiness at 8% - I wonder if they're ever gonna enter this war
  22. Game 1 - Colin Axis All quiet in Russia, jerry waiting for better weather, reds digging in. Japan capture the last city in central China. RN retreats from the Baltic, mission accomplished. Game 2 - Hellraiser Axis Russian lvl 4 tank kill a corp in Tsitsihar (?). Japanese forces kill corps and army, pushing to the last chinese capital. USA at 11% - post pear harbour historical date, USA readiness increase is accelerated i think. @Colin - IMO, hitting Manchuria makes a lot of sense if russia can spare the task force needed but only in tandem with an US assault on Japanese home isles. The goal should be to knock Japan out of the war. Lvl 4 or 5 tanks and the loss of 3-4 cities don't scare the samurais Limited success in the first phase is to be expected for your russians since usually (unless japan wants to hit the ussr) Manchuria is lightly garrisoned by the axis player. I suspected a diplo penalty for dowing japan but i had no ideea it would be 20% or so. It's a lot and the consequences will become clear past 1943 I think. But nonetheless I kinda deserved that - I didn't care to reinforce that 2 str army so I must pay the price:P
  23. Game 1 - Colin Axis Japanese in process of cleaning China. Multiple aggressions in SE Asia - Burma, Singapore, DEI, Brunei. Germans rather quiet, bad weather and mud prevents them from doing much in Russia. During allied turn: UK DoWs and convert Tunisia. RN initiates a major action in the Baltic Sea - canadian corps lands near Copenhagen and seize the two straits. Russian cruiser and destroyer block both land passages to the Baltic Sea and the RN destroyers, supported by 3 carriers attacks and destroy 3 lvl3 subs. I spotted 4 subs but the surviving one is in koenigsberg port and due to bad weather above koenigsberg, carriers are unable to hit. USA buys tons of new, shiny toys. Game 2 - Hellraiser Axis Bad weather and mud in Russia slow down the germans (which was to be expected once i decided to hit so late). Despite this, Riga (last turn), Minsk and Odessa are taken. Kiew will follow next turn. Finland joins Axis. Uncle Joe decides Manchuria is a surprisingly nice place and orders his tanks to invade Japan. Jap army (still at str 2) killed but town not captured. Bad ideea for the allied cause because USA readiness goes down A LOT. USA now at 2% readiness And russian tanks will be stopped at some point once TACs and fighters arrive from the queue. And if they won;t be stopped, let them take Manchuria, who cares
