Holien
I have seen this quite a few times and was wondering if this is a known feature? I would rather they use their fire at more sensible targets. Has anyone else seen this? Have I missed a thread that has already flagged it? Fair enough if there the tank is unbuttoned and no other juicy targets but surely not if the tank is already buttoned? Sorry if discussed already....
womble
I used to think they did this too. It was evident upon closer examination (upon prompting by BFC, and in an effort to illustrate a perceived bug) that it's not the case. I've been watching ever since I first thought this was a problem and have never seen a non-AT weapon fired at a buttoned tank since. I've seen lots of occasions when it looked on first replay like stupid grunts were exposing their position for no benefit, but it has always become apparent on further watching that there has been some other explanation.
Fredrock1957
I have seen infantry fire their rifle grenades at buttoned armor, but as Womble said not non-at units... But I have unleashed 3 50cals on a PzIV that was buttoned, stopped it from advancing, made it reverse and then the crew bailed... further inspection showed that crew as 'green' with low morale...
akd
They will sometimes continue to fire for a few seconds after they have forced a tank to button up.
