Glad to hear you are enjoying it :), and as for an ETA it is hard to predict exactly but maybe in the next few weeks as there were a few minor issues introduced in the last patch that we'd like to correct sooner rather than later.

There are of course some bug fixes to be included as well as some campaign adjustments but one big addition will be a much quicker and better optimized AI.

Turns will be approximately 50% faster and the AI will now be better protecting specialized units like HQs and Air units on the bigger WWII map.

All in all I think the next patch will be a big step forward with the latest engine :)

All my gaming time is now filled with Panzer Corps, a much faster moving game, admittedly without the dynamics of SC strategies. I found that my H to H games with SC have gotten to the point that the time requirement to complete a move prohibits me from playing. Turns take too long on the big maps when all belligerents are in. We need to either simplify, or have a save feature during a turn when life's priorities beckon, like with an AI game.

We've run through a few Beta builds for v1.03 and this is what we have so far. It is of course not a finalized list (as things may change and/or be removed from this list) but just a point of reference for now:

GAME ENGINE CHANGES

- fixed a unit movement error from Land to Land + Water tiles (Iron Ranger)

- fixed an adjacent port occupation error for when there is an enemy unit already located adjacent to the port (Iron Ranger)

- Garrison units are no longer able to 'Force March' as they were never really trained for this (Al)

EDITOR CHANGES

WWII 1939 Storm Over Europe

- added several Soviet NATIONAL MORALE events to boost their morale as the Allies land in and liberate France

- added a UK NATIONAL MORALE loss event for when the Axis take London (Gunnar)

- removed Bradford and Birmingham from the UK PARTISAN event (Gunnar)

- fixed an AI POPUP event with respect to D-Day

- all French Maginot Line units now start with strength = 5 (HvS)

- German Battleship renamed to 'Hutten' from 'Hutton' (HvS)

GAME ENGINE CHANGES

- AI will no longer automatically purchase Garrisons to fill in empty resource GARRISON script positions unless 'Production Delay' is turned off

- further AI speed and logic improvements

- fixed a NATIONAL MORALE script bug that had the game engine skip over these events from time to time (Lokesz)

- SUPPLY events that have an associated #SOUND= line entry will now display an animated explosion over the supply targets specified in the event

- fixed an error that allowed Carriers to reinforce/upgrade after it has been used to 'escort' (Catacol)

- removed the ports of Alexandria, Tripoli and Tunis from the supply effect on the Allies in the Mediterranean if the UK loses Gibraltar (abukede)

- disabled the Allied AI Italian SURRENDER_2 event to the US (Gunnar)

- Venice added as a secondary capital for Italy (Bill R.)

- Canada can now operate its air units without territorial restriction (Gunnar)

- Infantry Warfare and Heavy Tank research costs increased by 25 MPP (Gunnar)

- Fighters that fly a reconnaissance mission will no longer be escorted if they are intercepted (Bill R.)

- Fighters now have an intercept range equivalent to their strike range - 1 (Wushuki)

- Winter War TERRITORY event now properly connected to DE 401 (rjh1971)

You know as much as I love SC and I know I've said this before, but Hubert it really is time to consider some concrete action on SC3. Just look at the interest PC has generated, the sales, SC can be so much better than PC because of the strategic scale.

Hubert, you are on the cusp of the ultimate plunge for SC, you have done all the preliminary work, it's time to embrace your destiny and produce the definitive strategic scale wargame of all time. I have shared many ideas with you, I'm not done, but I'm reaching a point of complacency. Many of our older forum members have gone by the wayside, their enthusiasm capitulated through the many editions, but I know they're still out there, ready.......ready to begin, ready to help.

So....do your patches, but heed my words, the community will not wait forever, you will become fat and lazy..;)..Ok....well.... you will become older and with that you will not be able to maintain your passion, I can guarantee you that! The time will pass you by and you'll lose the opportunity, I'm a witness to that fact, listen....I know, it is undeniable.

Seems to be there is a bug with the HQ attachment range for the 39 Scenario. In multiplayer game I noticed for both Russia and germany units were still attached to HQ in subsequent turn after HQ moved away to 9-10 tiles distance from the unit. (both for auto and auto-assist mode)

You know Hubert, I kind of knew that, somewhere in the back of my consciousness, that little voice was speaking, but sometimes I don't listen, sorry.:o It's just that "Time" is always short and I just wanted to reiterate that fact to you, not that you need reminding.

As far as hoping, I really don't have much specifically in mind, I just know how good a programmer you are and you have evolved admirably and I'm wary of you sitting on success, like I have:cool:. I'm scared, SC is so good, but it could be better, the best and I want everyone to realize it, that's really what I'm hoping for, but then what?:eek:

Actually, I was trying out a new internet connection, so decided to post, and got a bit carried away...........who me????..moi?....nada..banish the thought!:D
