PBEM file size

It depends on the size of map and amount of units. I'm currently playing two games, one has 3-4 MB files and the other 17-20 MB files. The latter is a 3x3 km map with several tank companies maneuvering. Gmail still handles it fine. But it can get even bigger than that if the map is really complex or if there's lots of units with lots of orders etc.

I'm playing one on a small map, a company + a couple tanks for each side. The files are all 4-5 mb, which is isn't bad but still takes a couple minutes to upload, no way I would download and upload 20 mb files for each turn.

We need realtime with pause, or wego with no replay, come on BF! *rabble rabble rabble* :D

"We need ... wego with no replay" Why bother if there is no replay? It would be unplayable except for very small scale actions.

Besides which I was given to understand that the size of the files containing the turn data is one of the main reasons why full WEGO over TCP/IP could be implemented.
