xian
Although there is no explicit mention of a global morale feature (as in CM1), am I right to assume that it is present in CM2 'under the hood'. In other words, are units more brittle and more likely to rout if things start to go badly for neighbouring units?
vincere
I can't remember the exact answer to this. But I do recall longish discussions in the CMSF section if you want to search there.

In other words, are units more brittle and more likely to rout if things start to go badly for neighbouring units? Global morale in CMx1 did not affect the morale of the troops if I recall correctly. It was aggregate OF the morale of troops and their ammo level. If it was low enough the auto-cease fire would kick in. As for CMx2, I believe there is no global morale or at least as you describe it.
womble
I'm pretty sure Steve mentioned global morale as being in, when talking about the Road to Berlin scenario. I remember noticing it because 'til then, I'd thought Global Morale was out. Might've missed something in the context though.
kulik
Yup, its definitely there, i played hotseat the tutorial mission and i saw a squad of german conscripts rattled without a shot landing near them.

Were they out of C2? Not being in command will lower morale of units.
