Hubert Cater
Hi Jim, Quick question, did you get at least as far as licensing the game or not even that far? Hubert
James Cobb
Hubert, No. After finishing the install and trying to launch absoluteky nothing happens; no image, no sound, nada.
Moon
Do you have Kaspersky or ZoneAlarm? If so, do you have their toolbars installed? If yes, then you may have to uninstall them. These toolbars (the technology between the two seems to be actually the same) interfere with a LOT of things (including other security programs ) and one of the symptoms is that they block stuff without any kind of feedback whatsoever. We have instructions for removing the ZA toolbar up in the Knowledgebase at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk (enter ZoneAlarm as search term).

James Cobb
Just to make sure, I turned off my anti-virus/spyware programs. Still no go.
Moon
What exactly do you mean when you say: The game appears on the tool bar Which toolbar are you referring to? Anyway, it sounds like it would be better for you to submit a support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk for individual troubleshooting. James Cobb
SandboxIE and Norman Security. The toolbar is the standard Windows one at the bottom of the screen where the Start button resides and shows which programs are running.
James Cobb
Demo runs fine so the problem is not my rig nor the program itself.
Moon
Please submit a Support Ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. I'll escalate the issue to the programmers. However: I assume that one of your security programs is interfering (or both; are you sure they're compatible?) and so we may not be able to troubleshoot it for you, since we don't know these programs. You may be better off contacting their support for instructions on how to set an exception or whitelist a program for execution. Chck also if they have any sort of toolbar application that may be running in the background. We know from ZA and Kaspersky that even if you deactivate the AV program itself, the toolbar remains running silently.
James Cobb
What's this I read about a fixed setup version?
Moon
Hi Jim, the hotfix solves a bug in the activation procedure which led to an "Invalid Key error" when attempting to do an online activation. It does not apply to your case. As I just responded in your helpdesk ticket, I'm suspecting the SandboxIE is the main issue, given the many "known conflics" that are listed here, including conflicts with other security programs http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?KnownConflicts
