Affentitten
Good graphics on the mean and gear. The mountain rising sheer out of the flat terrain could have done with a bit more work.
MeatEtr
My google-fu tells me it's from the game called "War Leaders: Clash of Nations". Here's another pic that is verified to be from War Leaders: Looks like that's the same mountain from the other image, also the palm trees look the same as well. What do I win?
Michael Emrys
Looks very good. Any word on how it plays? Michael

Michael Emrys
Yeah, I was afraid of that. "Since we don't know a damn thing about tactics, let's put all our energy into eye candy." Michael
Pešadija
Since we don't know a damn thing about tactics, let's put all our energy into eye candy I've never seen this issue stopping a triple-A game selling bajillions. Ba-zing!
Michael Emrys
True. Sad, but true. Michael
noxnoctum
I've never seen this issue stopping a triple-A game selling bajillions. Ba-zing! Hey "mindless" shooters like Tribes 2 are some of my favorite games (actually very challenging... the people at the top are ridiculous). Just cause it's not a military sim doesn't mean it sucks. Of course if you're talking about Call of Duty that's a different story .
abneo3sierra
I agree, each has a niche... For myself I would prefer a game involving thought however, not mouse/keypad speed, and not one with a bunch of cheat codes so that idiots can pretend they are Rambo and beat the game in a few days.
Pešadija
But, noxnocturnum, tha late nineties-turn of the century were MUUUUUUUUUCH of a different business. Niche and mainstream were toe-to-toe, people were obliged to give solid gameplay since graphics were **** (AVP is scary because of boxy graphics-induced darkness)
abneo3sierra
I do have some fun, when I get a chance, looking back at some of the games I used to think were just amazing...games that asked for "at least" 64k of RAM, or at least 5mb on hard drives...and even some that followed after, like Panzer General, etc...all look soo..strange today.
Michael Emrys
And there were games like Operation Crusader that could have been great but weren't. Michael
MeatEtr
Alright if we're gonna talk about retro gaming at all, at the very top of my list is none other than B-17 Bomber for the Intellivision. From the ripe old age of 1981, I was 5 and my brother was 8, he was the pilot/bomber and I worked the gun positions. Wow this takes me back! Here's the controller overlay:
abneo3sierra
And there were games like Operation Crusader that could have been great but weren't. Michael That one did have potential...sad..one thing, back in "the day" game companies just released a product then forgot about it. I am rather glad that modern companies like BFC seem to support theirs a lot better. There are some modern exceptions to that rule though, but I won't mention them. Ahem EA..ahem...
