I bought a card, please advise.

Recommended Posts

I bought a Visiontek card. It says prominantly on the box 'nvidea Gforce mx420' Its a PCI card. When I looked in my case I thought my old card is plugged into an AGP (brown) slot. I haven't opened the box yet. Should I take it back and exchange it for the AGP card by the same manufacturer, or does it matter?

Sound advice ;)

Most reviews I've read has suggested to stay away from the MX cards. Any of the GeForce Ti cards will be much better. And yes, if you have an AGP slot to use, then by all means, get an AGP card (better interface) and keep those precious PCI slots open for other things that can use them.
