-Eddie-
Hi this might be a little cheeky to ask but if anyone's interested could they try making MTP (Multi-Terrain Pattern) camouflage for the British in CMSF? I play a number of 'Green-Zone' esque scenarios and I think this would give a much better atmosphere for my little soldiers:) Here's a few reference pictures for those who have no idea what MTP is: Thanks for looking.
Ryujin
I've been on a texturing spree recently working on the Marines and stuff, so I'll step up to the challenge! MTP uniform with desert DPM gear mixed in? "transition" sort of look? Also same "cut" as the DPM uniforms and combat shirts?
-Eddie-
Cheers! And could you try a 'complete' MTP look please? Transition/mixed camo has always looked ugly to me, even on those blurry faced Special Forces:p
Ryujin
Sure, complete MTP it is!

Ryujin
Here's a work in progress quick teaser, there's not a lot of great reference so I'm doing a lot of tweaking to get the camo right: http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o62/Ryujin_bucket/CMShockForce2010-02-1714-46-21-95.jpg -I think the pattern is too big at the moment, easy fix. -However, I think the colors/brightness is about right, what do you guys think? -It certainly seems to blend in well with the arid, yet vegetated maps.
-Eddie-
It looks great at the moment:D And yeah, not much to work with, I searched and it was either the same photos, ACU or MultiCam. WRT to brightness/colour the MTP looks a little darker/faded in the 2nd ref pic compared to Desert DPM, not quite sure how it looks in game atm.
Ryujin
Here's a comparison shot of the two patterns: I could possibly fade it a bit, but it'll also get some fading when I add details like wear and tear/dirt.
Ryujin
Can't edit the last post, but do you want any unit's patch (Do the British even wear patches much)? I'd make a unit version and a generic version. I think I got the pattern down, just starting on the details and randomization.
-Eddie-
Looking very good, much more like I thought it would anyway. The pattern does seem much more tight compared to the earlier screenshot, which is good. And could you add the 3 PARA DZ flash and wings please? Thanks:)
Ryujin
Sure, 3 para should easy enough to make , just got to fine tune those pockets.
-Eddie-
Awesome, can't wait to storm the Green Zone with my chic pixeltruppen:)
Ryujin
I think it's pretty much done, let me know if anything is missing/wrong: Includes soldiers with gloves, several osprey vests with gear/patches, several helmets with tape, IR tabs, 3 para DZ flash, desert para wings, and flag tab (the game mirrors it so both shoulder pockets are the same). Generic version will have flag tabs, but no 3 para stuff. I'll try to put on the finishing touches when I have a chance and put it out tomorrow or there about.
-Eddie-
Looks spot on mate! IR flags and blood groups on the armour, you diamond:D What's left to finish on it? Looks great to me.
Ryujin
Well, I wrapped up the few details and submitted it to the repository, should be up in a bit. Enjoy!
-Eddie-
Good stuff, good stuff. Thanks again for that:) Edit: One quick question, will the short sleeves and t-shirts mod work with this skin?
Ryujin
No, but if I get permission from the maker of that mod/make my own version, it could be integrated. The issue is the t-shirt mod comes with DPM pants (arms and legs are in the same file). So the pants would have to be swapped for the MTP ones. I'll see what I can do about a "with T-shirts" version (and fix the faces due to the skin color issue (bodies and faces/hands don't match up).
-Eddie-
Aaaah, cheers. Don't worry about doing it the short sleeves are only eye candy for zooming in.
Ryujin
They're already covered in eye candy, might as well add T-shirts. I'll toss it in the "v2.0" with the generic units. I'll have 3 para, 3 para w/ T-shirts, generic, generic w/ T-shirts.

bodkin
I'm getting a 550 CWD failed error at the repository when I try to download.
-Eddie-
Same here:(
-Eddie-
Nevermind, works now. Edit: The vests and helmets showed up in MTP but the uniform wouldn't change. I found the problem which is that the uniform skin is titled 'uk-uniform 2', simply change it to 1 and it works:)
Ryujin
oops, sorry about that. Let me know if you find any other bugs
