John Kettler
Lanzfeld, DVRing it, as am quite the student of sniping. Here's part of the rich lore of that fascinating topic--a classic WW I British sniping treatise. http://www.allworldwars.com/Sniping%20in%20France%20by%20Major%20Hesketh-Prichard.html Regards, John Kettler
MeatEtr
Watching the replay now, it's pretty good. And I'm kinda sick and tired of all the sniper shows airing nowadays. Especially since the SEAL snipers took out those pirates from a ship not long ago.
John Kettler
Lanzfeld, Don't know how it happened, but the History Channel finally got one right! Am hoping this wasn't just a one off, but can become a mini series or similar. Certainly, there's enough material to do so, especially if the producers branch out past just the U.S/U.K./CW. I figure an entire show could be done on nothing but sniping and countersniping in Sarajevo, for example. And I know interviews exist with both WW II German and Russian snipers. MeatEtr, There are lots of sniping programs on TV, but most of them are on sniper training, with very little coverage of actual combat. I think the program we're discussing did a great job of melding all the elements into a coherent story, then reinforced it with the shooting demos and attendant technical explanations. The Raufoss M211 was simply stunning in its effects, and this is the first I've heard of it. Wow! Regards, John Kettler
