Guest JAZZA
Anytime there is smoke in cm the outside of the smoke takes on a blocky appearance.I have a voodoo2 3d card, maybe it can't handle the smoke.Any ideas on why it would be like this?
Dschugaschwili
I have this problem too (also on a Voodoo2). I think this is a driver related problem. For a quick work-around set the smoke graphics to "fast and compatible", these graphics work. Dschugaschwili
Hilmer
Yes there seems to be problems with smoke in CM with Voodoo based cards. If you set the smoke to “fast and compatible” you will loose the boosted explosion effect you get with the new patch Are there no other way to (patch/fix) these smoke problems¿
Guest Big Time Software
Sorry the Voodoo2 isn't able to handle the high-quality smoke. It's a limitation of the Voodoo2. That's why we have the "fast and compatible" smoke option (press SHIFT-I) once or twice. Charles
Guest Napoleon1944
Same thing happens with Voodoo Banshee. Still looks ok though.
Schrullenhaft
The Voodoo Banshee is a permutation of the Voodoo 2 series. It was the first primary display chip with 3D features built in from 3dfx (instead of 3D-only accelerator cards). Its 3D core is the Voodoo 2 (for most respects), so it will share a number of the incompatibilities or problems that the Voodoo 2's have (but possibly not all).
