CptWasp
This could have much to do with my issue: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=86876 This is a Windows Vista problem, that SHOULD be corrected with SP2, that is very near to its release. The fact that I have a message and you a CTD is driver dependant, I have a Geforce. There is a quick fix too, but I wait the SP2.

Jon Hagstad
hm, but i ve an ati-card not an gforce.. Both me and Hafer has ATi 4870 cards. Hafer we should try rolling back to Catalyst 9.2 or 9.3 and see if stability returns...
CptWasp
As I said, the problem is in Vista 64, not in the video card. Maybe after SP2 we need new drivers, or maybe the problem will be already solved. We will see soon. BUT we have different brands of drivers, so I have an error message and you don't have it.
Hafer
sometimes i get the error-message. "your graphic hardware is out of memory [...]"....funnny....
CptWasp
This seems possible, since the Vista problem seems to be related to the management of very fast multi core systems giving a lot of instructions to the graphic cards. Indeed a lot of applications with fast graphical processing are involved, not only CMSF. Obviously maybe your problem is different; but I suggest you to install SP2 or the quickfix, just to be sure.

CptWasp
SP2 is still not available to the public, are you an MSDM subscriber? Or you have the beta? After the official release probably Nvidia and ATI will release new drivers.
Hafer
but I suggest you to install SP2 or the quickfix, just to be sure. but the hotfix works only with sp2.... there's no fix for sp1
G B Scurlock
Is this the same as the Open GL Error crashes that Matt thinks are driver related for the nVidia 9800 GTX card? I have Vista 32 with SP1.

LukeFF
FWIW, I also had this problem with the 9.4 drivers on XP (HD 4870 video card). Reverting back to the 9.3 drivers fixed the problem.

Tuomio
I have this problem too with XP and catalyst 9.4. I will try to revert back.. Looking at the taskmanager whilst playing, i can see there is a memory leak. CMSF allocation goes from 400mb to 2gb within 5 minutes or so.
Tuomio
Tried first 9.5, which was just released hours ago, but the problem persisted. Then after switching to 9.3 everything is normal now, no memory leaks. So, 9.4 and 9.5 will not work with CMSF.
