Makris
I'm playing a game as the Japanese versus the AI, and it is putting up a reasonable fight. However, I've notice a few odd behaviours that the developers might be interested in looking into: 1. Brisbane is currently surrounded by a Japanese fleet, but the AI keeps loading units into amphibious transports in the harbour each turn, which I destroy each turn. 2. I have a small fleet stationed a way off the Japanese coast. Every few weeks the AI sends a single unescorted transport right into the fleet where it is destroyed. This has happened several times, and the fleet hasn't moved in that time. 3. My troops are dug in all along the Burma-India border. The UK AI has been building up troops along that border now for a few years. I can see around twenty or more infantry units, plus a few other types of units. Even though it outnumbers me about 2 or 3-1, it has only done some minor skirmishing along the border. This may be WAD, but it isn't strategically that sound: tieing up so many troops for so long with no real gain. Makris
Stitch
The AI is definitely not dynamic to a large extent. For intance, those single US tranports are headed towards Hokkaido with hopes to overwhelm Hakodate. For the uninitiated, those armies and HQ can definitely be hard to defend against. The problem is that it happens in every game. The other actions that you describe are also more or less pre-dictated, giving you the sense that once you figured out a counter, you can deploy it with prescience in the next game. But like watching the movie Valkyrie, the game is more or less following the actual path of WWII, so one can't expect much in the way of deviations. That said, I know that Hubert is working on a more robust AI that will perhaps appeal to those that have experienced the "historical" AI flavorings and wish for the AI to be unleashed. In the meantime, other humans players are one of the most devious types of "AI".
Hubert Cater
Makris, Thanks for the feedback and I can already say that 1 and 2 have been improved/fixed and good point on 3 as I've seen this as well. Thanks! Hubert
abukede
I have also noticed that the US will send carriers out unescorted. The main fleet will be engaged a turn away and pop there is a carrier.
