Nupremal
I think the weather works differently from the way I thought... It appears that if something is a weather zone, that is the same for the whole map with that zone, as opposed to being more generic and randomized over various areas. Is that correct? That means I will have to change my system some and divide up some of the weather areas more. I have one desert terrain which means the whole world's deserts have the same weather all the time this way!
Big Al
I made like 7 different zones and gave them all characteristics for different parts of my map.
Nupremal
I have a lot more but it still seems too few to me - I am going to have to expand them dramatically to allow for more variation, even if I don't change the actual % results - just so that one area rolls differently from the next so weather is not so uniform.
SeaMonkey
What I did with PZAA is other than create the known extreme weather zones, is to make a bunch of different generic types. Like "Stormy Winter", "Temperate Winter", "Calm Winter". Make them with different degrees of characteristics and then sprinkle them around the map loosely grouped to the actual features of the global zones. This allows for different varying weather, almost like storms in a sea of calm or vice versa, very hard to predict. After all isn't that what weather is?
Nupremal
I used climate data and weather records to create climate zones, but now will divide them by areas too. I am a stickler for as much accuracy as possible.
Big Al
Remember Nup its a wargame and you might have to fudge it.
Nupremal
I know but I make good stuff. Once it is programmed in it will be very nice. All I need to do is repeat with sub-divisions - you will see I will have it done in a short time.
