Kingfish
Japanese medium tanks are comparable with U. S. light tanks. These were later identified as Model 2598 Ishikawajima Tankettes and Model 98 medium cruisers. 1st Mar Div Rpt, V, Int Annex N, 9. The above is a footnote from Guadacanal: The First Offensive by John Miller, Jr. I am having trouble finding info on the bolded tankette he refers to. Can anyone point me to an online reference that would detail the basic specs such as gun, armor, etc? Many thanks.

John Kettler
junk2drive, Nice site! Kingfish, Oh ko! Swapping theaters, eh? Japanese warfare overview here. Good contextually, but decidedly weak on AFV specifics. http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/japanese-warfare/index.html Japanese Tanks & Tank Tactics. Should prove most useful, with detailed technical info on the various AFVs. Also, I suspect the 2598 got shortened to Type 98, which might make data location easier. The main site has a great deal of Japanese material spread out over a bunch of Intelligence Bulletins, too. http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/japanese-tanks/index.html Regards, John Kettler
