Joe Shaw
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I don't really have a dog in this hunt since my (older) system runs great. As to the complaints and criticisms of BFC I'd like to ask one simple question ... have you ever had a problem with any other game? If so, could you get PERSONALIZED advice with specific fixes for YOUR MACHINE within 24 hours of the game's release ON A SATURDAY? Yes there are issues with CMSF, we all recognize that, but we also need to recognize that BFC is working, literally, overtime and in many cases without pay to make the game what it can be for EVERYONE. Yes you have a right to be disappointed that the game isn't running at 100% out the box ... but you also need to recognize that BFC is doing everything humanly possible ... and in addition to humanly possible they've also got rune on it Seriously rune I understand your concerns and while you may have ruffled a few feathers I applaud you and all the gang at BFC for their dedication to the community. rune
Patrick... You are correct, i complately missed that. I don't think we had the xp x64 on the O/S list, nope. However, let's see what we can do. Will do some research and see what I can find, give me a little while. Rune
rune
OK, did some researching, and found that the fix is also necessary for xp x64. Look at the bottom of the page and see it applies for xp x64. Opps..if is for 2003 x64. Hmm, will search more but if it is necessary for 2003 x64 it is most likly necessary for xp x64. I don't know if MS made a patch, since xp x64 is the red headed step child of microsoft. Does your computer have acpi turned on in the bios? Cna you disable it and try? It won't hurt anything, but you may have to manually turn off the computer after shut down. Rune

rune
Someone did, will have to see if they willr espond. Also someone else setup on a system close to yours, and said they got it working by running the microsoft dual core hotfix. You may want to try that. Patrick, if i find something else will psot here. Keep an eye out here occasionally. Rune

patrik pass
hi rune, i dont want mess with drivers. sorry, but again, thank you very much for help. i belive, that problem is not in my comp( mainly multicore optimization) and it will be solved in next few weeks/months. then i will buy the game, bec it looks promising to me. to adminttd: hi, this is of course not a case of enemy units, which are not in visible range. this is about dissapearing friendly units. only icons still visible. when i click on icon, unit is visible again. i will post screenshots. bye all!

patrik pass
cpl steiner thank you im on elite settings. so this was my fault:) i also disabled 3cores in task manager, and game runs better. little flickering on ground - in setup phase, and little slow mouse camera persist. running in native (1600x1200, all det on medium/disabled antialias and shadows. ive had finished all 2 scenarios maybe 10 times. i think that after few tweaks this game will be great:) thx rune and other guys from battlefront. i will wait and filling my time with theatre of war. they will start selling it in my contry 7th august. good luck battlefront! and do multicore optim:)

JaguarUSF
The Dual Core Optimizer is at the top of the page here: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html Download the file. If it installs, then you don't have it. If it uninstalls, then you did have it

Kieme(ITA)
Ok this is my situation now: I've followed the suggestions seen on this forum. I've turned my video drivers to the older 94 version. I've forced my CPU to one single unit running CMSF and added as many other functions as possible to the other CPU. I've set FA 2x and AA 2x. I've set off VSync and turned to Max texture quality and to improved 3d model quality. With such setting I can play without any crash and with very good rate, game runs smooth even in bigger maps. Now I must really thank some people for helping me: rune JaguarUSF Molotov_billy The oly problem I see regards AA filter which in some occasions seems not to be working well. I'd like to know something more about what's up with the 3d model quality option, what does it affect exactly? And what about video drivers? Do the older ones really perform better than the very last ones? Now I can play the game and what I referred as major bugs as for graphics should be considered just as tweaking. But I must say that I never did so much work on my computer in order to make a game run and I still don't like the idea of being forced in having so much old drivers. Finally I really hope that some more optimization will be done in a future patch.

JaguarUSF
Make sure you have the same settings for antialiasing and multisampling in the game as in the nVidia Control Panel...this increased my performance dramatically.
Kieme(ITA)
Wha do you mean Jaguar? Having the option ingame set to "ON"?
rune
The only other thing you can do http://www.ngohq.com Download their modified drivers and see if you run better with their drivers. Due to the fact the older drivers work better, it proves there is an issue with the drivers. The problem about fixing something to a broken driver, it that they may fix the driver, and then it breaks the game again. As others have said, bigger companies can throw money at nvidia [or vice versa if nvidia thinks the game will help sell their cards] and get a a fixed driver for their game. Obviously we can't do that. Kieme, let me know if you try the ngo drivers and what they do for you. Rune
JaguarUSF
Having them both set to "on" or "off." I turned them off and the game is a lot smoother with no noticable loss of detail.
