H2HSnake
Is it possible to make more armies in this game? I am talking about making new skins, and adding different voice commands. To be more specific i was thinking about making Polish armed forces that took part in whole WWII (Italian Campaign,Normandy 1940, Normandy Outbreak 1944, Holland, Belgium, Eastern Front, North Africa, is it possible?) Gnasher
The short answer I believe is Yes! AFAIK it's a question of creating the relevent skins in TGA format. I'll leave it to the more qualified to explain how this could be done. It would be very nice to have alternate skins especially for British/Commonwealth units using American equipment. I'm thinking along the lines Shermans/Whites/M10s with British Army divisional markings.
KiloAlpha4
I didn't see where we could extract the skins....
chanss
Finnish winterwar '39. The AI handles the russians, and the Finns to the player. Would be cool stuff!

I've made a british sherman but still have troubles with the markings, the numbers works fine but not the damn "T" letter [ July 11, 2007, 02:18 PM: Message edited by: rofl ]

Oudy
rofl How did you get the british markings correct? I played around with it for my Firefly but the front and back numbers were about 5 feet in front and back of the tank? I didn't spend too much time on it, but I wasn't able to get the front and back serial numbers to disappear. Oudy

Oudy For the signmaterial_T i create a new mat- and texturefile in the folder digits/usa/gray because the "real" britsch T doesnt work correct. For the other numbers i use that: [Division_UkEmptyGray] Type Division Name UkEmptyGray DivisionComment _empty_ SignMaterial_T 3dobj/digits/usa/Gray/t.mat SignBones_T sernum_ap_usa sernum_bp_usa Digits_Big 170000 199999 6 DigitsBones_Big_A sernum_a1_usa sernum_a2_usa sernum_a3_usa sernum_a4_usa sernum_a5_usa sernum_a6_usa sernum_a7_usa DigitsBones_Big_B sernum_b1_usa sernum_b2_usa sernum_b3_usa sernum_b4_usa sernum_b5_usa sernum_b6_usa sernum_b7_usa DigitsMaterialsPath_Big 3dobj/digits/uk/Gray
Oudy
Rofl Thanks for the info. I'll check to see if I can get it to work on the Firefly. Oudy
Oudy
Very interesting rofl. Very interesting indeed. You are using the British "T" with the US numbering. I hadn't thought of switching the mats and tga files. I was trying to make the msh files work, and finally gave up. I think I can make it work with the British "T" and the British numbers, now that I see how you got it to work. Thanks for the tip rofl. FinnN
About the original question, I think the answer is yes and no. As far as I can tell you can construct new nations fairly easily, but getting the interface to handle it is another matter. The background flags that you see behind the unit icons in the info panel for example are all held on one bitmap, so adding a new one is going be tricky at least. Also, from a quick look at the GUI files it seems at first glance that the various countries are hard-coded (I could be wrong). One possibility I suppose would be to swap in and out single nations, but that's not ideal. Have fun Finn
H2HSnake
hmm so maybe it would be easier to attach new armor with new skins to already existing Polish army ? since it exists there's no need to create NEW one, just adding new vehicles, new soldier models (british) with new skins.Of course i hope it doesn't mean w must use all the new with old from 1939 mixed hehe. That should be easier. I'll wait until i buy the game and then maybe I'll try
