CoolColJ Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 http://www.theatreofwar.de/pics/717_big.jpg is this still in the game? LOL http://www.theatreofwar.de/pics/716_big.jpg
gunnersman Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Thats funny to see from a Russian company. I would not have thought "Ivan" went back so far.
John Kettler Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 In light brush or tall grass against an immobilized tank or other juicy target, the Goliath could be a nasty surprise. Not so good, though, if infantry with fast firing weapons is nearby. American GIs certainly didn't have much trouble dealing with it once the word was out, but I think a few GIs early on came to grief screwing around with one. Regards, John Kettler
THE Sabot Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 But being a Russian company, you think they would have included these "mine dogs" too. From RfB:
John Kettler Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 THE Sabot, There were strenuous requests made for them to be included in CMBB, but it didn't happen. My understanding from reading Suvorov's various books (spent time in the field with SpetsNaz units as an inspector) is that the Soviets had mine dogs even in modern times. Guess they thought they were effective, eh? Nice screenshot! Regards, John Kettler
Rak Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 There isn't even a confirmed kill with mine dogs. Complete waste of time to implement. Good idea, but they were ineffective.
