poesel
I have a headset with a microphone attached. This has worked in the past (pre 1.3.1 IIRC) but stopped working now. The mic does work in linux with audacity for example. The problem is probably here (from the logfile): </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">SOUNDMANAGER: Using device alsa SOUNDMANAGER: Device spec = '( ( devices '( alsa null ) ) ) SOUNDMANAGER: pDevice = 0x8591448 SOUNDMANAGER: Using default capture device SOUNDMANAGER: pCaptureDevice = 0 SOUNDMANAGER: Error after opening capture device SOUND CONTEXT ERROR: ALC_INVALID_ENUM </pre>
ClaytoniousRex
Does that happen with your own symlinked libopenal or with the one that is included in DropTeam's lib directory? Since 1.3.1, you might be able to stop doing that hack of symlinking to your own and just use the included one again. You might need to use the included one to get microphone capture to work. poesel
I used the inbuild and the libs from my system with unfortunatly the same result. Theres also another sound issue which may be related or not: I seem to hear a lot more hits and near misses than I receive myself. For example I get that 20mm riccochet from armour sound but I'm not shot at and noone is near. However the firefight takes places nearly half the map away. Makes me a bit paranoid... poesel
...schubs... Still have these problems (both). Any ideas?
poesel
Hmm, six weeks now and I'm still having the same problems Especially this 'hearing everything' thing annoys me a lot. I think I hear everything other players hear (no voice com unfortunatly). I can never be sure if I'm fired at or someone else. If I don't see the riccochet I don't know. I could as well play without sound. Any other Linuxer having the same problem?
__Yossarian0815[jby]
the sound has dissappeared entirely from DT-linux regardless of which system (alsa, native) I use. the sound is ok on the desktop... my error message from the .log SOUNDMANAGER: Loading >../data/sound/chink.wav< SOUNDMANAGER: Status: No ALUT error found SOUNDMANAGER: Sound frequency = 44100 SOUNDMANAGER: Sound channels = 1 SOUNDMANAGER: Loading >../data/sound/Locking.wav< SOUNDMANAGER: Status: No ALUT error found SOUNDMANAGER: Sound frequency = 44100 SOUNDMANAGER: Sound channels = 1 SOUNDMANAGER: Loading >../data/sound/Locked.wav< SOUNDMANAGER: Status: No ALUT error found SOUNDMANAGER: Sound frequency = 44100 SOUNDMANAGER: Sound channels = 1 [ October 15, 2007, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: __Yossarian0815[jby] ]

__Yossarian0815[jby]
I´ve installed ubuntu 7.10 the sound in DT is back , dunno about the microphone though. also the dreaded aiming reticle drag mouse problem persists . (mouse is smooth until the crosshair moves over an enemy unit, then it gets "sticky")
Phonan
My goodness! It all WORKS now! The graphics aren't jagged and broken on the tacmap anymore! The sound is audible! THANK YOU Ubuntu!
poesel
Could you guys please also test the microphone? (in standalone you get an echo if you use the mic). Does any of you have this 'hear-all' syndrome?
