ChrisND
I have completed a package of sprites outlines which are now at cmmods. These consist of outline showing where to place sprites in such bitmap files as: 3d units, 3d military, terrain, resources, etc. Makes placing and moving sprites MUCH easier.

japinard
Sorry if this sounds stupid... but what's the best way to use this?
ChrisND
Copy and paste the outlines into an existing .bmp file if you wish to modify an existing file, or modify a copy of the outline itself. The grids give you exact placement of sprites so that when your sprites don't "overlap" into each other and so they are centered. They also allow you to place an identical sprite in the exact same spot in several places, by copying the sprite and the grid it is in. The best way to learn is to simply mess with the sprites in the editor. Don't mess with the originals of course... make copies!
japinard
But how do I get rid of the gridlines then? It seems like it'd take a really long time to manually erase them all?
ChrisND
Use the paint bucket. It eliminates every conjoining sprite that is the exact same color (In the case of the grid outline, pure black).
