Capt. Toleran
Viewing videos from both, TOW looks a bit jerky , while if anything, CMSF looks almost too fast (though I am not complaining, and I understand well that both are in beta and subject to change). There seems to be a frame rate lag in the TOW vids. Just curious, was a faster PC used for the CMSF vids, or is CMSF actually easier (which seems incredible, and a dream come true) to run smoothly than TOW?
Thomm
You want a simple explanation? The M1 and M4 videos were obviously captured in 'turn-based' mode. Consequently, all the PC had to do was rendering as all the AI calculations (if there were any) had been done beforehand. No RTS game can compete with this. Furthermore, there are, on average, many more units and objects in the TOW videos. Best regards, Thomm
Moon
Rollstoy is right. The other thing contributing is that we used a newer version of Fraps for the CMSF videos Martin
Capt. Toleran
Ah, great to hear -- I was just a little worried about TOW, because it seemed a tiny bit slow, and I presume the vids were done on decent or high-end systems. The explanation makes a lot of sense, and I'm relieved and looking forward to both.
Moon
Actually I did the vids (both) on my computer which isn't high-end by any standards, especially not with regard to graphics card (GeForce 6600) Martin
