I stumbled across this (relatively) old pict of a Bradley ERA box after it was hit by an RPG. This has to do with the earlier discussion of ERA cook-off threat to troops in the game. One interesting thing to me is how much of the ERA box's outer face is still intact. is modern 2nd (3rd?) generation ERA really THAT LITTLE low-explosive-force?

I hate to imagine it, but there may be one or two board members wandering around who have actually had the opportunity to see a Bradley ERA box detonate.

Thanks much for this! Believe this is the first picture I've seen in which you can clearly see that the ERA has been hit and detonated. For that matter, I think it's the first decent pic I've seen of a Bradley in ERA. It was pending when I visited my now retired brother in Scouts at Ft. Benning. Couldn't believe how loud and smoky the Brads were, not to mention tall. Was also astounded to find that the big, powerful M88 ARV was much quieter.

What is really wierd is that you can hear an M1 better when it is farther away than you can with he is close up. At least we could in the hills of Hohenfels.

I would have thought there would be more complete destruction of the ERA box.

I have the same problem with an annoying set of desktop speakers that are 4 cubicles away here at work
