Sgt Joch
I don't know if anyone else has noticed this. I was playing the "Baker 1_1" mission which takes place at night. I ordered a MGS to area fire on a nearby building and at the same time ordered a squad to pass the vehicle and move up the street. The squad passed in front of the MGS just as it opened up with it's main gun and the blowback promptly took out 2/3 of the squad. I was pleasently surprised to see that you can no longer shoot through friendly units with impunity as you could in CMx1, although I am sure those squad members are still cursing me!
thewood
You mean the surviving squad members are cursing you.
MeatEtr
Shouldn't the crew of the MGS notice that there are friendlies passing right in front, a temporary cease/hold fire makes sense to me. Maybe the TacAI could be tweaked to implement this.
Dirtweasle
Doubt the gunner would notice, and if the commander gives the order... I wonder what actual doctrine is and what if any the difference in actual combat practice is?
Sgt Joch
Well in real life, you would expect a competent squad leader to have his squad walk behind firing vehicles, not in front of them, although in a night time firefight, a mistake like this could happen.
