mac g4 1.25 ghz dual processor problem

Recommended Posts

Any idea exactly what make and model graphics card you've got inside?

CMBO or CMBB?

Booted in OS9 or OSX?

It sounds like you've got a an ATI Radeon 9000 which won't work and there's no fix for the drivers. You might want to try a Geforce4MX and see if that works or somehow obtain an ATI Retail Radeon AGP 7000 32mb which does work.

Another choice would be to get a PCI video card and change your monitor to the outputs from that without having to do without your other card when you need it.. 16mb ones are easy to find. A 32mb 7000 is also possible as are flashed 64mb units:

The old ATI Radeon PCI card 32MB works well on my old machine. Fog is fine in CMBO & CMBB.CMAK demo: Dust in CMAK demo, set at 'high quality', looks fine too. Interesting that dust at the next lower setting 'fast and compatible' looks almost opaque?G4 1.25 dual should just rip through turn calculations!

Speed is a good thing.
