Big Dog
Is there anyway in the editor to prevent shore bombardment? It is somewhat disheartening to lose an entire 10 poiny army to a single battleship and cruiser.
Blashy
1 hit from the battleship and 1 hit form the cruiser killed 1 10 point army?
benpark
Is there an answer to this question? Because I would like to remove it as well.
Blashy
I don't understand why this would be removed. Shore bombarding did occur and was devasting at times.
Desert Dave
As originally posted by benpark: Is there an answer to this question? Because I would like to remove it as well. Yes. Go into Editor (... if you don't yet know how, ask, and I, or someone else will tell you ) And change the "combat target values" For your BB or CA One, or both. Change the "soft attack" and "tank attack" And also - air & bomber if you prefer it, From current default setting of... 1, To... zero. You may also want to change "Naval Defense" of selected units To zero. O/W, attack ratio would then be 0:
Ottosmops
And you can edit the defense bonus data in the campains menu in the editor. Increasing the NDB (Naval Defense Bonus) for land tiles would reduce the damage from shore bombardment.
benpark
Thanks. It is far to effective as is. Minimising it will help. Blashy, because I feel like it. The AI overutilizes it.
Edwin P.
My guess is that a human would overutilize it too if his opponent kept his armies on the coast.
