Rambo vs Liam The Axis Strikes Back

It has been some time since we last concluded a game, Rambo's Forces overran my Axis in Rome and I surrendered after Losing France as well!

In our new installment I have chosen Axis again. Save this time Rambo shall have his work cut out for him and no easy time as he had before!

This was a Standard game... Both sides reached out into late 1941 until they got warmed up. The Axis had freed Norway from British oppression and left Spain alone to deny the USA any extra ships!

German Afrika Corp based fought on two fronts, against the British in Egypt and the American-Anglos in Algeria-Morocco, decimating both sides. The Italians Ahistorically performed well, with a Bomber in the Theatre and their entire fleet, 1 ship remained of the once great Italian Navy, sacrificed to save the Med from the Allies! The Allies seemed to think that Numbers meant Victory and assualted Fortress Algiers an Italian Stronghold that held out from entire Royal Navy and USAF and RAF...

Afrika Corp was soon called into Action in Iraq and had to face a Threat there by the Newly arrived Soviets moving in from Armenia...It was no easy task but they managed like a tennis player to play both forehand and backhand, to fight a twofront war...Managing the luftwaffe well. Otherwise the English and American's would've been polished off much earlier.

Either way!

Patton/Ike and the US were so demoralized his Command was disbanded and he escaped with 100 staff personal right off the Coast of Morocco running, with his tail between his legs and Panzers rolled through the remnants of the American Armed Forces! This humiliating defeat has taken the US Armed forces out of the European Theatre of War for at least 12 months and Some sources say for the rest of the war!

In the North Atlantic, due to the MegaHerculean effort to Take North Africa and face off against the Italian Navy the Royal Navy is too weak to defend itself, the Kriegsmarine headed by Bismark and Tirpitz Pours out and fires on Convoys unloading in Liverpool Port, destroying the entirety of their Yield and damaging the Port so gravely that there is no hope of of resupply from Canada or to the USSR from England! Meanwhile U-boats raid what little bit of Supplies go to the USSR but it is rather difficult to cover the entirety of the Artic Supply Route...

The Allies reaccess their sad disposition and retreat the Defend England from inevitable invasion and began to repair dozens of damaged Royal Navy Vessels along with attempting to convince the American Navy to remain in the Atlantic! Families of the dead sailors are crying for their immediate Return!!! The RAF has lost the Battle of Britian and retreated, the USAF is nonexistant attempting to feed Failed plans all over the map. The German Reich Awards fascist Italy with Lost Lands all over the Med!

In the East, there is a Very Different Story!

The Russians have not been as impotent as their Western Counterparts and their is discussion of PeacePlans, of course with the Liberation of the Ukraine, Baltic States, Belaruss...

Elite German Units with little fighter support captured Leningrad in 1941 and in 1942 moved in on Moscow, burning the city to the ground. After these the Germans found out they'd underestimated the Russian Armed Forces, who had secretly built a Massive Wall around Kharkov and in the Ukraine... And impenetrable wall all the way back to Stalingrad... Regardless new improved German Tigers along with dozens and dozens of Armies and Corps assualted the Russians Liberating the Ukraine at a HIGH cost. The Russian counteroffensives though inferior in technology managed to destroy a great deal of our #s, we had to replot and wait till 1943 in order to mantain momentum against the Russians. German Frontline Units then found out what the Russians had been researching, advanced Fighters-Katuysha Rockets in the tens of thousands and also a second fortified line behind the Don River.

Busy Beez these Russians creating a Wall of Death impenetrable, though on the otherside Italian and German Engineers had created their own wall of Death using advanced Axis fighters and Tigers to protect their side. So far no advancement is possible by either side and their is a general stalemate along with a ceasefire besides the occassional border clash in this region. Each side waits and plots like a boxer for one to step forth and expose a weakness... Regardless German Production now exceeds Allied! Soon the War will be over.. We predict a early 1945 End to this Great Patriotic Campaign.

Yanks & Brits had a rough time in North Africa. We landed at Casablanca, pushed towards Algiers with sorry supply, to be stopped cold by experience & supplied LF/Tanks...with Italian cannon fodder to fill the front. We had to leave, spent a year there for nothing...Well, the LF wasn't in Russia.

Western forces are regrouping.

Meanwhile, the Russians are dug in, praying for some tech, training a few rockets here & there. Yes, I did have a successful mini-counter, was mostly an exhange.

Game continues on, it's a fun one.

The Events of 1943:

Every American and British Unit available with all aircraft Flock to the UK!

German ships with Italian bomber and Luftwaffe kill O'Connor off English coasts, however Sea Lion was never performed. The Island is too fortified and Winter will set in too soon! Axis Eyes are set on other Targets!

After Allied retreat from North Africa and the regrouping of their Navy, the US Silent Service 3 new lowtech US Subs..... went into action along with newly upgraded US Capitol ships GLR2 to push back the Might of the Kriegsmarine along with the aid of damaged floating RN vessels the Kriegsmarine was forced to retreat back to the Baltic for a time! This however was not a decisive action merely a necessary one...

Liverpool Port was finally repaired enough to recieve Convoys that and of the Fear of cutting off all Supply to The United Kingdom. The Scourge of the Kriegsmarine was finally silenced and Britian was Saved!!!

Meanwhile in the East, an onslaught was launched with the greatest Artillery Barrage in history. 7 or 8 Rocket Artillery Detachments stretching out over 800 mile front reign down fire upon Axis fortified Positions, pushing the Axis Out of Moscow and killing many Axis units. Dozens of Russian Armies, Corps, Engineers, etc..... Assualt Axis Positions from Kharkov all along the River Don... This however is a shortlived Ordeal, the Luftwaffe is ordered East and all is over as quickly as it began. Despite taking MASSIVE losses, 1/3rd of the German Armed Forces in Russia being wiped out... The Russians cannot continue their thrust and constant Air Raids including 2 German Bombers drive them back to their Original Lines before the Battle begun. Newly introduced German Level4 Tanks aid in holding the line. Regardless, Stalin is a bit shocked at the weakness of Axis forces!

At the same time dozens of Allied Forces land in France, breakout and are poised to capture Paris!

Forecasting this the German High Command plans a special operation to capture the Caucasus Mnts by taking Turkey... Invading through Turkey, Syria and Iraq German forces seize 1 oilwell and a Russian City...New German Tanks are at the forefront of the Battle!

Now the Russians are Split in two and the Luftwaffe headcracks the Allied Airforces in the West. Russians are still resting from their wounds.

P.S. Game is getting very interesting! Lots of tech for the Russians and Germany while the Allies are playing a game of catchup, let's see if Rambo can turn the tide into 1945!

Alright, Great Game. One fault, is that I didn't have build limits on but regardless, didn't matter until around 1945 or so... After that the game became a little warped but regardless had all the elements of a Great Game... Truth be told Rambo fought Valiantly and his best but he couldn't contend against the Axis SuperWeapons.

Time and time again, Panthers, Tigers and King Tigers came to the rescue of the Axis Powers. With a lot of Production managed to outproduce and finally when when the Allies mobilized managed to crush the Allies with their Massive Weapons... On top of it, Axis Fighters were unstoppable and 3 Axis Bombers bombarded the Allies on every front... With Long Range this gave us the Edge we needed to win, the Allies were limited to France and that cost them the game... Narrow Battlefields...

In the East, Russian Rockets nearly dictated every Axis move, and it was nearly impossible to stop them, they were in many fortified positions and they had the maximum experience and tech!

Still Axis flung around the Caucasus via Turkey and took Stalingrad up the Narrow straight and used Air Power to push back the Russians Rocket Power! Who also had level5 tanks, just not enough of them to stop me...

I see here the Allies lost their Royal Navy early that cost them heavy. Axis got level4 tanks in 1941!!! Germans also managed on several occassions due to the Naval situation to dominate the Seas and in the end Summer of '45 outproduced the Allies... Russians did the best, though the West caught up and nearly took France and broke out!!! Even after so many early losses... Russia had enough firepower alone, but not enough land units to take out much of Germany but no Western Pressure to allow her the moment of Glory she sought!

Fought to the bitter bloody end, upwards of 75 dead Ruskies units!

Russians had 9+ rockets at one point, level +4, most with experience +5. Game was even, until King Tigers ran the Yanks off the board for the 2nd time. Afrika was first.

for a whole bitter year of fighting the Russians sent everything they could at Axis positions in the Caucasus, but not enough Solid Land Units to pressure the Germans out or to Defend this Strategic Isthmus

Axis have just too much... King Tigers, New improved HE111s with Drop Tanks... and endless supplies, Allies need a better foothold but manage to hold much longer than expected

I didn't know that HR, I am not well on German armor after the Mark IV... Looks a lot like a modified King Tiger Mark II series of some type than a Panther tank... That Turret and the way the tracks protrude out the front... Are you certian? has a few odd characteristics

That's a Panther afaik. The sloped armour combined with that turret is a dead givaway.

noknok thanks, that helps some... The pic that SC2 makes the Panther bigger than life and tones down the Tiger........kind of strange to have a Panther ahead of Tiger. regardless of why, I might remove the Tiger image altogether. The same confusion I have with the USAF fighters.

The "Panther"...was built due to deficiencies in German Tank design,...as the 'Russian' Tank's proved to be of superior design...and robustness as they held up well to the German Tank's.

So the 'Germans' incorporated 'Russian' tank design features into their new tank(s) in order to try to regain dominance in this weapon sector!. The wide tank-treads were already borrowed from the Russian's [This made the heavy tanks better able to negotiate mud-snow-& wetland areas] and was therefore made a reality in the 'Tiger-I',...then in addition to the wide tank-tread feature, the sloped armour was incorporated into the 'Panther' tank.

OHHH!!!... I forgot to mention that the 'Russians' also had taller Bogey-Wheel's to hold up the Tank-Tracks which had the real benefit of much more ground clearance [Great for Snowy area's and as well as more clearance from the muddy roads...which could cause a lower clearance vehicle to get bogged down in]!.
