Marky
from LAUNCHING air raids? this doesnt make much sense i think it should be that a carrier is only damaged wen it is hit by enemy aircraft or other warships

SeaMonkey
This has been addressed before. Conclusion was to allow carrier strength to only drop to 5 for damage of its CAG through air combat only. IE it would take direct attack of AF, naval, land forces to reduce the carrier further. pzgndr
Carriers will require direct attack to be destroyed. AFAIK, strength will be allowed to drop to 1 in other cases. If we let it only drop to 5, we would have invincible carrier air stikes that wouldn't suffer ANY loss due to air combat. That wouldn't be right either, eh? With Clusters
What about prohibiting carriers under strenght 5 from engaging in offensive opperations? They should be going back to a friendly port to refit at that point anyhow, shouldn't they?...
SeaMonkey
Good one With Clusters, even at strength one, carriers would be useful to reduce entrenchment values. Maybe this should be the rule for all units below 3 strength...attacking prohibited.
Bill101
For units that won't risk taking any damage by attacking, I agree that preventing them from making any attacks when below a certain strength, somewhere between 1-3, is fine. However, for units that will risk receiving damage when making the attack, I would still allow such units to attack, as while they might inflict some losses, there's a good chance that they'll die in the attempt. SeaMonkey
Just made my point Bill, IRL was there ever an incident with a unit attacking that caused its complete demise, especially at this scale? I can't think of one, anyone else?
