Agamemnon (Axis) vs Baron (Allies)

Turn 2 Benelux and Denmark fall, a French army on the border hammered down to 3 strength points. Poland is slow going the only casualty is a corps.

October 8th 1939, Vicious counterattacks; Rundstedt hammered to 6 by the Polish forces looking for revenge. Corps in Warsaw destroyed, mud stops armored unit from taking capital. In the east, French attacks leave a German corps at 3. Hitler orders an immediate offensive. A French tank and army bite the dust.

November 5th 1939 dawns to find Rundstedt and Army Group East’s supply lines cut. Mud further hampers their efforts. All they manage to accomplish is damage to a corps in Warsaw, an army northwest of Warsaw, and an army in the south. Hitler is not amused, how could Rundstedt let himself get cut off like that. The General claims the weather has clouded his thinking.

On the western front the prospects are much brighter. German troops sweep over an abandoned Maginot Line. Bock’s forces take the French mine, destroying an army on the way. An army east of Paris is hammered. The British BEF is spotted in Paris. Hitler was overheard saying “that’s what I am talking about.”

The Allies survived into the spring in France. The British and French have formed a strong defense around the French capital and have had all winter to dig in they await the German onslaught..... Wait news is coming over the wireless that Konigsberg has fallen!

Apparently the Poles who have been fighting a war against the German supply lines since last fall have broken through and captured the city.

Hitler in a fury had ordered Rundstedt (sp?) to Berlin where he was going to have a bad case of lead poisoning. The General, knowing this acted first. In a General's Revolt the armed forces arrested Hitler and the rest of the heads of the National Socialist Party. A ceasefire is in effect as the terms of the German surrender are arraigned.

Im took Konigsburg, not Berlin. His attack started off extremly well - he took the low countries and Denmark on turn 2. A combination of aggressive Poles cutting his supplies and poor weather hampered his advance. As he pointed out a slow or bad start in this game produces a lingering death for the Axis. He decided to throw in the towel sooner rather than later.

A salute to a fine opponent!

That's odd... I'd keep on fighting as Axis, I think.... IT's not because Poland falls very late that the Axis loose. Poland and Konigsgurg only give 20 MPP. Even if you loose them for -say- 5 turns, that's only 100 MPP.

Not enough to say that you'll loose the game, I think.

No point in giving up that earlyin my opinion. Unless Poles fight on until 1940 and Russia starts being very impatient,
What do think happened?

Do you think he took Konigsburg on turn 2?

How many turns do you think their are before 1940?

WOW...........I thought my Poland attack went bad as LARS held out till Oct 40.
Do you think he had a chance at winning?

Do you think Oct. 1940 is still 1939 and the Russians are not

very impatient
