acrashb
I play Strategic Command from a USB flash drive - just take the drive, plug it in, and take care of things. Quite handy for business travel, where corporate policy forbids putting games on corporate laptops. Will we still be able to do this with SC2? Retributar
You could hide your game install somewhere in the Windows Directory under some existing boring folder... that no-one would ever want to waste their time opening it.
acrashb
Since I'm one of the guys enforcing corporate policy, that one's out. Further, the workstations are locked-down - the average user couldn't install if they wanted to. I expect there are other people in that circumstance. Hubert Cater
Can't say just yet as I am not sure what the protection policy will be for SC2 upon release.

I cannot help but bring up some SC1 history here....when the game was first released, there was no need to keep the cd in the drive...then one of the patches also provoked the need to use the cd to run the game...some customers lamented this new development, and in the spirit of generous kindness, Hubert's next patch once again precluded the need for the cd....I hope this will still apply with SC2..it's not a game buying breaker by any means but it does make playing the game on a laptop much better when you don't need to carry the cd about... Blashy
This is one big attraction to SC. It can be used from a removable drive with no files needed on the pc. A big plus. I hope SC2 will have the same ability. It would probably be a setting with non 3D graphics but that is acceptable.
