Baron
It appears somehow that Napolean must have risen from the dead. I'm playing a human opponent and Paris fell 4, yes count them, 4 turns ago and the French are still fighting! Now I'm playing as the allies but I imagine the axis player has a few choice words to describe this situation
JerseyJohn
Not even Napoleon fought on after the Fall of Paris -- I mean, he was ousted twice and in neither instance did he defend Paris. Of course, his nephew did, in 1870, but the end of the siege also marked the end of the war. Baron, you ought to feel honored to be in such an unusual situation. TaoJah
It seems to me that with more recent verions of the game (I think is was from 1.02 on) the French praxtically always surrender fast. But I liked it when the French didn't gave up in older versions, because you can get alot more experience from them with your aircrafts : make sure his aircraft is killed and just attack his units with your aircrafts out of range of the UK airplanes. You'll be VERY happy to have experienced aircrafts later on in the game !!!

Stendhal
Napoleon III did not defend Paris; he was captured at Sedan. Leon Gambetta did, then escaped by balloon..
