LampCord Posted May 11, 2006 Share Posted May 11, 2006 I've seen some posts about people reloading games in order to get an advantage (or at least accusations of such). It reminded me of a seemingly simple solution that I believe is used in GGWAW: The random number seed for all events is stored in the save file instead of being regenerated at load time. So if you load a saved game, the same sequence of random results should occur as did in the last load. In other words, if you load your game and you didn't get the tech upgrade you were looking for, exiting and reloading wouldn't help, it would hit exactly the same 'random roll of the dice' as the previoius time. SC II is partially luck (i.e. Diplomacy and tech), so you never know wether you opponent had luck or needs reloading... so you need someone in the same timezone to play TCP/IP.
