Congratulations for the finalists! You can start your mental preparations for the finals. Two of the scenarios for the finals will come from me, and one from TB155. One of my scenarios is complete and has been reviewed by TB155, for the second one I need to write the briefings, do some playtesting and have it reviewed by TB155. If I remember correctly, TB155's scenario is ready, and I will review it shortly before the finals (TB: could you send the scenario to me). I assume that all this will take a couple of days, so the finals will start next week.

We'll discuss the details of the scenarios later on once the first round of the Nordic Wannabe Tournament is over.

At this point I'd like to thank WBW for providing two nasty scenarios for the first round, and all the players who boldly went where no man has gone before, and participated in the first round of this worlds first unbalanced CM tournament. I hope you had a lot of fun.

Hmmmmmm..... I and Thorben BOTH lost this one ? 2-1, the game ended in a tie with both sides losing.

Also, it seems in this one the score in our game did not even out at 100 as the rest seem to. We seem to be missing 8 pts from the full score. How does that affect the final score ?

That's just a typo made when the output of the scoring program was copied (to produce a shorter message). The scoring program output is actually

The score is adjusted immediately to add up to 100 before any other computations:

Hello everyone!

A short update. The finals will probably start next week. I planned to get all the scenarios for the finals ready this week, but I'm just having too much fun playtesting them. For example, yesterday, while playing x against the AI, I couldn't believe it when a y, right out of the blue, z both my u and v, even after w!

As you've probably noticed, a new thread has been started in the scenario forum about the first round scenarios. I've just posted a message in that thread, containing a link via which you can download my first round scenarios (The Aftermath, Gotta Get Up, Economy of Forces).

Very good, Nabla. I'm certain you're coming up with some clever stuff for our unsuspecting finalists. Don't rush your work. I'm sure they would rather wait awhile longer and get better scenarios. Scenario design is an art IMO. One cannot rush an artist.

Or unlucky as the case may be.

I must say that crapping out due to mutual poor global morale with 5 turns on the clock biased this scen against me. And quite heavily as it seems. My opponent was left with a minuscule rag tag infantry force and two AFV's while I still had a sizable infantry force at my disposal.

Yes, I do feel bloody cheated and sore about this particular scen.

Why thank you, Mattias. I do it because I have the time, and because I enjoy spending that time on this great CM community.

Nabla and his scoring system really stirred my enthusiasm for running tourneys. I'm of the mind there is no such thing as a balanced scenario. This was frustrating when it came to setting up competitions. Nabla's scoring system is an excellent way to deal with the issue. I've been a happy camper ever since.

Nabla's two scenarios are looking good to me. I think they are ready. I've sent him two scenarios of mine that he will evaluate when he gets the chance. I think his are better, but mine are decent too IMO. Nabla will be making the final decision on what we use. Be patient. It won't be long.

Remember, the German player will get the scenario file, his briefings(both general and Axis), and a password. At the same time, the Allied player will be sent his briefings and password. The German player will start the game.

Hmmm interesting. I browsed through NWT-thread and found out that I should not have even qualified if that tourney had finished in time. Does this mean I will be the punchbag of these finals?

Anyways we Finnish people (especially students) have this thing called Wappu (1st of May) so I might not be readily available during the next week. Just thought I let you know.

NWT results were interesting, our difference would have been 7 points. But I hope you beat them in the final, it would give some bragging rights to me and DrAlimantado.
