Need active and past military gamers for campaign series battle. Realistic TOE's maps created and admined by a past military officer. He does all the work you fight the battles.

The Situation:

The US III Corps is driving on Metz as a part of Patton's Third Army. The 4th AD is spearheading this drive. Recently engaged at Mars La Tour, France, the division has since lost contact with the withdrawing German 21st Panzer Division. Combat Command B, 4th AD has been selected to reestablish contact and drive the enemy across the Moselle River and secure a route into Metz. Please refer to this map

The key to getting into the southern flank of Metz is Ars Sur Moselle, a small town on the western bank of the river. From Mars La Tour, the American CCB commander has three maneuver options. North through Saint Marcel, south through Gorze, or the center route through Rezonville. Each presentsa different set of options and challenges.

The German commands a Panzer Kampfgruppe of roughly regimental size. Unfortunately he also has a lot of avenues to cover. Blocking them all with a force sufficient to the task will be impossible. So it will be interesting to see how this game of puch and counterpunch shakes itself out.

Current weather conditions prohibit air cover due to extensive cloud cover. The ground is damp from recent rains with more on the way. The small river flowing through the center of the battle area is wide enough to prohibit vehicles fords but some dismounted fords may exist

Today I am writing from the back of an M3 Halftrack on its way to the front. My small group of journalists just spent a long, rainy night in a leaky barn outside the town of Mars La Tour in southeastern France. I feel I must mention that the majority of the leaks were created by bullets and shell fragments during the last weeks heaviest fighting. Mars La Tour was stiffly defended by elements of the German 21st Panzer Division, which managed to withdraw in good order after severly mauling the 4th Armored Division's Combat Command A. But as always, the key to this narrative is that they withdrew, bringing us ever closer to Germany and the end of this terrible war.

Today we ride forward with the mounted infantry of the 10th Armored Infantry Battalion, CCB, 4th AD. The division lost contact with the retreating Germans early yesterday. General Patton, in his usual gruff manner, told us this morning that he believes the enemy's stand around Mars La Tour was a last ditch effort to hold up Third Army before their triumphant entrance into Metz. So he has ordered 4th AD to continue the attack toward Metz, as he put it, "with all due hast and minimal lollygaggin!" General Hugh Gaffey, 4th DIV commander, hastened to comply by ordering Combat Command B forward at first light this morning. We linked up with the 10th east of Mars La Tour and hitched a ride.

As I write this I cant help but reflect back to last weeks events and how difficult it was to push the Hun out of Mars La Tour. Patton expects to be in the outskirts of Metz within a couple days, but a quick look at the map shows a number of other small towns and at least one river crossing that will have to taken before we begin to lay our eyes on the spires of the cathedrals of Metz. As one veteran company commander told me this morning, "There's the way General Patton sees the war and then there's the way everyone else sees it. The two visions hardly ever look the same." Lets hope for the sake of these brave fighting men, General Patton's keen insight into this most complex and new kind of warfare will continue to hold merit.

Its not min. Its ScoutPL's He sends a packet and on the Axis and Allied there is one Reg CDR who issues strategic orders and graphics to his TF cdrs and sends a copy to the proctor. The procter sets up the forces based on what the reg cdr wants and a battle ensues.

Afterr the battle the procter looks at the last video and aar report and updates the TOE for that TF cdr in that sector..

This is Captain Foobar reporting in.

For those of you who don't know me, I was tasked with being the allied commander for this game. I have not heard from the GM yet, so until I hear otherwise, I assume that I still am involved at this level.

To all allied (and axis) players, I apologize if my absence has caused problems, but as correspondance had dropped off in December, I assumed it had stalled out. I have all original orders, and I am very happy to see that this thing is geting back online. Today I will do what is necessary to get organized.

One problem. My emails bounce back when I try to send to 2 of my chief players, Windstarz and Dirtweasle. If you two are reading this, I will do all correspondance with you on the newly created forum. This will hopefully stop the terrible communication troubles I was having with my subordinates, where I didnt know what they had received from me, or when.

To all axis players reading, be sure and keep your engines warm, and in transmissions in reverse. I can provide detailed maps for you on how to get back to Metz, if you would like to avoid the red tape.

That is all for the moment.

So the old Scout Operation Campaign died, and there was'nt even a wake? I'll close up the forum we were (or were'nt) using...

Capt. Foobar - not sure what happened, but it seems this new campaign is filled up with players. I am very busy with CMMC now, an real-world things so will not be signing up for any new campaigns.
