Panzer Ace
Is there a way to take a Ferdinand mod and say replace a Jagdtiger mod in CMBO with it?? Hmmm
109 Gustav
Depends what you mean. Mods only change the textures, or "skins" of vehicles, so it would be possible to make a jagdtiger look sort of like a ferdinand. However, you can't import vehicles; the 3D models and vehicle data is hardcoded into CM. Guest Sgt. Emren
You can mod your vehicles to look like anything. You can make them look like hotdog stands if you like.
Pud
But it will be a King Tiger shaped Hotdog stand. "We have ways of making you buy our hotdogs" [ October 30, 2002, 11:23 PM: Message edited by: Pud ]
Kanonier Reichmann
Those dastardly Germans. They just always have to get their own way don't they...even when selling hotdogs! Regards Jim R.
kump
Hold on there pards. You can mod the textures all you want, but that would be a hot dog stand in the shape of a Jagdtiger. Models and internal game statistics (armor, speed, weight, etc) cannot be changed/modded. So using Ferdinand textures on a Jagdtiger would look just like a Jagdtiger, just a different paint scheme. Panzer Ace
Okay Maybe Im Reaching here, but Could I transpose the CMBB Ferdinand onto CMBO? the reason I thought of the Jagdtiger was that they are both just Big Hunks of steel, that are pretty much tactically limited
kump
The problem is the models themselves are hard coded into the CM games, as well as the stats. The current CM engine would not allow you to exchange models between games, or transpose them. The only solution I can see to this is buy CMBB and play with the Ferdinands on the eastern front. Besides that, will have to wait until future CM releases.
Mace
umm, there were no Elefants (which I'll assume is what you mean, the Ferdinands were the original version without the MG) involved in the battle for Western Europe. They were either used on the Eastern Front, or the Italian Campaign. Mace
Panzer Ace
Aaah! But what a dastardly surprise it would be if they were to show up in southern france, even if you do have to shoot a MG42 through the main gun

They then received the Elefants designation. Ferdinand’s no longer existed after Kursk. Try reading what mace has said again.
