Treetop64
I've asked this before long ago and got "no" for an answer. That's fine, but in the "Widescreen" thread there is talk of scaling and the two black bars on either side of the screen. I'd be MUCH more content with that than with the stretching I'm experiencing now. So, how do you do it? Any help with this would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Schrullenhaft
This is dependent on your display's capabilities rather than CM. Some monitors will "map" the pixels onto the screen exactly, creating the "black bars" on each side (and possibly on top). Other displays will "scale/stretch" the pixels so that a lower horizontal resolution will fill the entire widescreen display. The "scaling/stretching" effect is probably one of the more common responses from LCD displays. Some LCD displays have options for "scaling/stretching" or "mapping" the pixels (these terms will have different names in the display documentation), allowing you to select what you prefer. Most displays however usually don't offer the option to select how the display handles the non-native resolutions - forcing you to accept whatever the manufacturer thought was best (and what the display electronics were capable of).
Redwolf
You can select between black borders and scaling/stretching both in the LCD's menus or in NVidia's driver control panel.
