Havilandt - the 1120th Engr Combat Group was formed on 15 Apr 1943. It was formed from the Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) 348th EGSR (Engineer General Service Regiment). It arrived in the ETO on Jun 9, 1944.

Lets see.......... In Shelby L. Stanton's Order Of Battle US Army, World War II, here's what he's got (yes it's verbatum):

1120th Engineer Combat Group

15 Apr 43 redesignated from HHC, 348th Engineer General Service Regiment at Camp Young Clifornia Desert Training Center: staged at New York Port of Embarktation 16 Nov 43 until departed 3 Dec 43; arrived in England 9 Dec 43; landed in France 9 Jun 44; crossed into Belgium 6 Sep 44; first crossed into Germany 4 Oct 44; reentered Belgium 23 Dec 44 (wonder why) and recrossed into Germany 5 Feb 45 where inactivated 20 Jan 47.

Campaigns: Normandy; Northern France; Rhineland; Ardennes-Alsace; Central Europe

Aug 45 Location: Eisleben, Germany
