Marder
In the last scenario I played I ordered an artillery barrage during the setup phase. The manual states that this is somekind of pre-planned barrage, without the normal execution delay. During turn 1 the barrage started (the FO had 60 rounds). After 3 turns of prep fire I wanted to stop the barrage, but the command "cancel Target" was missing!?! I wasted a lot of precious ammo this way. Am I missing something, or is is not possible to stop the firing of a pre-planned bombardement
Ben Galanti
According to the manual, pre-planned fire missions can not be stopped. They use the full alotment of ammo from the spotter. Ben

MikeyD
Some artillery types fall all at once (like rocket fire), others may take a few turns to finish but the pre-planned barrage can't be stopped. If you don't want to expend all the artillery in one go it's best to wait til turn 2 before targeting.
Pvt. Ryan
RTFOST. When you go to plot an arty attack on turn one the On Screen Text tells you that the orders can't be changed or cancelled. However, the barrage can be delayed by any number of turns, as indicated in TFM.
