illo
If I search on net result will be everywhere. 37mm Flak 43 L/89 In CMBB I see. 37mm L/57 Which one is correct? How do these two cannons differ in performance? http://users.swing.be/tanks/engins2/346.html http://www.achtungpanzer.com/flak4.htm
RMC
One source I have shows that that ostwind had the 3.7cm FlaK 43 mounted. Another says the FlaK 43 was L/57. The (Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two says the Ostwind had a 3.7cm L/60. This could be because the L designation depends on whether or not the chamber is counted in the length. Von Senger und Etterlin says the Ostwind had an L/60.

pakfan
On that german site http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Waffen/flakpanzer.htm I read that the Ostwind has a 3,7 cm Flak 43 with a barrel length of about 3300mm. That would be reasonable for L89. [ December 14, 2002, 10:00 AM: Message edited by: pakfan ]
RMC
I think I found the discrepancy. Enzyklopädie Deutscher Waffen lists the weapon length as 3300mm but says the barrel is 2130mm and the actual rifled portion is 1826mm. The germans included chamber length in their L/ calculations. The 2130 makes for L/57.

Shadow 1st Hussars
There is an Ostwind in the tank park at CFB Borden, I could always drive down with a tape measure...
