Phoenix Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 Seems to reason that a hit on the radio would knock it out of command and control. Can the radio be hit? Also, can an AT rifle, or even a richocheting shell cause a tank to be shocked. Cheers!
pathfinder Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 Answer to both ??-----spalling could. Not to mention that gawdawful KLANG when round hits...nose bleeds, aching head...
Phoenix Posted September 3, 2002 Author Posted September 3, 2002 I know it COULD, but what I mean is does CMBB model this possibility??
Uncus Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 I dont know if they can but I hope the BTS people though of that. I think it would be really cool to see how a platton has to reorient themselves so the commander can issue orders visually.
PeterX Posted September 3, 2002 Posted September 3, 2002 Seems to reason that a hit on the radio would knock it out of command and control. Can the radio be hit? Apprently, not in the DEMO. Seems likely that drop-outs and other malfunctons would be pretty common, as well. These weren't solid-state devices. I dont know if they can but I hope the BTS people though of that. I think it would be really cool to see how a platton has to reorient themselves so the commander can issue orders visually That would be neat. Because, given the 650m command range radio-equipped AVs currently possess, there's not a great deal of incentive to maintain platoon cohesion. For the Germans, it will be free-roamin' like in CMBO- except on the largest maps.
Chad Harrison Posted September 4, 2002 Posted September 4, 2002 In a certain scenario, all my german armor took many hits, and none were knocked out. The command vehicles never lost their radio, and AFAIK, BTS has not said anything about it being possible. Chad
