What is " unzipping " a file?

Could someone tell me what unzipping a file is? Also could you tell me exactly what I'm supposed to do unzip one ( step by step, please ). The cd instructions leave a lot to be desired.

Rob,

Get winzip. . . you can download it off of the net.

Make sure it is in the "classic" set up. Use the command "extract" to extract it to your CMBO file. I only unzip scenarios so I put it into that folder. Not sure where you put PBEM games, I haven't played one.

"Zipping" is merely a process of compressing a file in order to make it a smaller download, or to group several files together for download as one. To unzip a file and return it to its usable state, you need a progam like Winzip or Power Archiver. Using the Winzip Wizard interface is a very user-friendly way of easily unzipping files.

as said above, when asked on install, use the "classic intferace". for all other questions asked, use the default settings.

In the PBEM folder. Start playing human opponents; it makes for much more interesting battles.
