Bogdan
Hi gentlemen. Just a question about this order in CMBO. What's happen when i order a tank to hide ? Does it stop its engine, but will it fire to a target ? Or will it just hide, i mean make no noise and doesn't engage anybody ? Bye
Ellros
Basically it cuts the engine to avoid being detected. Can't say as to whether it will fire, as I've only had my tanks hide while in cover so as to avoid being detected by sound contacts
CombinedArms
Though I've never tested it scientifically, I believe it does reduce the vehicle's tendency to fire, which could be dangerous to its health. So, like Ellros, I tend to only hide vehicles when they're very unlikely to engage the enemy.
Bogdan
Thanks Gentlemen. It was my opinion too : this order only make the tank silent, and keep it from firing too. The "hidden" tank wont fire, except at very close range maybe, but wont ambush. I've to try this in battle.
Stoffel
its better to give them an ambush target order in a direction where the enemy doesnt show up. This way the tank doesnt fire at infantry coming near you while zat the same moment that Tiger slowly turns its flank away from your 75 mm sherman and blast it into pieces
