This Korp was responsible for the defense of Florence, Italy, and had unde its command 29th PzGr, 4th FJ and 356th divisions, plus attachements. The Axis history factbook shows them having its own arty regiment of 3 battalions. What type and how many tubes? Any Werfer units under command? I. and II. each had 12 105mm guns/howitzers, while III. had 12 150mm howitzers. [TOTAL: 24 105mm and 12 150mm, 1571 men]. I just left my 1. FALLSCHIRMJÄGER DIVISION - FALLSCHIRM ART. -REG. 1 at a friends, but I'll have it tomorrow and have a look. I also have the "Geschichte des Fsch.MG.Btl. und des Fsch.GR. FALLSCHIRMJÄGER DIVISION - FALLSCHIRM ART. -REG. 1 doesnt mention much about the guns they had, or a complete "gliederung" of the guns. It is however mentioned about a batterie: = Batterie-chef = 2 B-Offiziere(Vorgeschobener Boachter(observer) = 1 Batterie-Offizier = 1 Batterie-arzt = chef Batterietrupp - Nachrichtenstaffel: fernsprecher & Funker - Infanterie-Staffel: 6 MG trupps 1 securing B-Stelle 1 VB 4 securing the "Feuerstellung". = Batterie-staffel: 4 guns = Munition-staffel = Kfz-staffel = Tross: Verwaltungsoff., Spiess. Fourier, Kuche, Kleiderkammer, Waffemkammer, Fallschirme. I do have the 1943 "Personale Gliedrung" if you're interested Page 12/13 speak about the guns the "Luftlande- und Fallschirmartillerie" used: 1) Gebirgs-Infanteriegeschutz 18L/11,8 7,5 cm from 1937 till 1945 2) Gebirgskanone GK15L/15 7,5 cm 3) Gebirgsgeschutz 36L/19,3 7,5 cm till 1945 4) Leichtgeschutz 40 L/13 10,5 cm 4a)Leichtgeschutz 20/2 10,5 cm 5) Leichtgeschutz 42 L/17,5 10,5 cm from 1943 till 1945 They also used captured guns in Italy, mostly to set up firebases to be bombed by the Allies. But 1th Batterie was isued Italian 7,5 cm guns september 1943 and used them till december 1943 when they resieved some LG's. Regarding the Werferbtl.1 I would like to know the date as Fsch.MG.Btl turned into Fsch.Gr.Werferbtl.1 on may 31 1944, so I have 2 "Gliederungen", and many places etc. during 1943/1944. John Kettler Posted June 21, 2006 Share Posted June 21, 2006 Kingfish, The Gebirgs stuff is the lightweight version of the normal guns issued to mountain troops. The Leichtgeschuetzen are indeed recoilless weapons, as featured in that that nightmarish ROW battle. The LG 40 series has the same gun, but different carriage variants. No idea what to tell you about the LG 20, though, seeing as how it's not listed in Gander & Chamberlain's WEAPONS OF THE THIRD REICH, which has a whole chapter on German recoilless weapons. Best guess would be that it's a typo and should read LG 40/2, since this would fit the model progression shown and known. These figure's are what it should be. The real figure were different: 93% Ffz-strength, insted of the Raupenslepper Ost they were given the NSU-Kettenkraft. 75% sGr.W. strength, so 27 iso 36. July 30 the Batl. was send to Pesaro to dig in on the Green-line and support 1 Fsch.Div. They proved themselves as a Granatwerferbtl. by blokking a Britisch tank-attack. Next they supported 1 Fsch.Div. in heavy fightings at Pesaro, Cattolica and south of Rimini. Then they were send to Forimpopuli, then south-east Bologna and were placed under command of Fsch.Artl.Reg.1. 1 KP supported Fsch.Jg. Rgt.3, 2 KP supported Fsch.Jg.Rgt.1, and 3 KP supported Fsch.Jg.Rgt. 4 during the winter '44-'45. Then the story jumps to april '45. I'll send you the picture's a.s.a.p. The good news for Kingfish is that the Kettenkrad is at least in the game, whereas I don't believe the RSO is.
