Hans
This is suppose to be a sketch of an Japanese armoured action against the Dutch in Java circa 1942. Do we have a Japanese speakers in the CM crowd?
YankeeDog
Your picture isn't showing -- there must be something wrong with the source. I do speak Japanese, buy not especially well, and my reading ability is pretty limited. I suspect there are others on the forum who can do a better job than I. However, I do have a good kanji dictionary, and with a little time I could probably give you a pretty good idea of what any text on the map means if you can get the link fixed. Cheers, YD
Paco QNS
The map is here, in the fourth chapter, entitled "2nd Division", under a destroyed bridge photo: Japanese Armoured Units on Java Island, 1942 -that is, if it works, being a geocities site -

Hans
Thanks Japanzer Just what we needed! Does Ujiki mean anything or is it just a name? Ah Japanzer I believe you are a native speaker? If you have the inclination and time could you check the Japanese language websites for anything to do with the Pacific war? In particular the campaign against Malaysia and the Dutch East Indies and specifically any armor actions (Kalidjati), the invasion of Ambon(Ambonia) and the airborne invasion of Palembang. Dreadfull lack of small scale maps on those subject! Thanks again
Japanzer
Hi, Hans, You are welcome. "Ujiki" is a name. And I am a Japanese native speaker. I recommend you searching the words "Takizawa Akira Japanese Army". He writes some excellent articles. But, there are few maps suitable for CM.... Would you tell me(japanzer@hotmail.com) your E-mail address? When I find some maps, I'll tell you.
