tottensonntag and other incredibly awesome scenarios?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've just been completely blown away by the breadth and drama of the TottenSonntag scenario by Rune. My brother and I are playing via email and it's the most fun I've ever had wargaming -- strategy, tactics, combined arms are all available in this one on a huge scale reminiscent of the Napoleonic battlefield. Does anyone know of any other scenarios built to this scale (70+ AFV's per side, multiple battalions of inf, kilometers of battlefield, etc) that have reasonably good play-balance?

Thanks to the CM team for such an in-depth wargaming experience!! You guys rock!! Now give me some more!! smile.gif

"but can't seem to find it in the usual places. Where can I download this please?"--foamy

It's on the CMAK disk. I have been playing it as German vs AI because none of my PBEM buddies seem interested in playing this beast.

I agree with Bogojuvolev's high opinion of this battle. I am just fooling around with this as a German player vs AI (recommended for PBEM only)it IS fun although the AI does not offer a good, logical defense, then counterattack. Note Runes' caveat about slow computers having difficulty with this monster. Each turn takes a while to load. If anyone is willing to play this as a PBEM let me know. smile.gif

I may of made it, but the help from JonS, John Salt, George Nafziger, Charl Theron, and the fine folks at the South African National Military Museum, made it possible. The books at the end of the main briefing give a good accounting of the battle.

As I like those huge scens, I did one myself. "A Big One" (fictitional, 12/42, 3.6*3 km^2, about 10000 points, 70+ turns) available at the proving grounds. 60+ AFVs and a btn+ of infantry for each side. Axis Attack is followed by an Allied counter attack.

Edited to add a "," and a "^2" after Sergeis following post.
