Tigrii
Imagine you are playing a 1250 point TCP/IP Meeting Engagement against an equal opponent. How long would you take to set up? I am wondering because some of my opponents tell me I set up too fast and I want to see if that's objectively true.
Andrew H.
Setting up is gamey.
Treeburst155
It depends on if I am attacking or defending. I usually spend more time on defense. I could spend over 30 minutes on a 1,200 pt defense I think. With TCP/IP, I like to do the setup phases PBEM, then move to TCP/IP. Treeburst155 out.
Seanachai
Depends. Is it a real opponent, or Grog Dorosh? If it's a QB, I usually spend a fair amount of time. With a scenario, it depends on whether the designer looked like he put some thought into an initial, possibly 'historical' setup, or just dumped the units in a pile for you to sort out. Of course, I put a lot more time into setups against opponents who it would be cripplingly humiliating to lose against, like Soddball, or Joe Shaw. I've been perfecting my setup against Michael Emrys for over a year and a half, now. It still needs a bit of tweeking...gotta run.

It's your country, after all, and the chances of anyone other than a fecking beaver showing up while you're having a slash is pretty slim. I mean, what? There's like one of you for every 50 square miles?
