Captain_Thunder
Why bother to RAR a file if it is going to be zipped? Seems like unnecessary baggage.
Oddball_E8
Well i rar´d them because of two things 1: i didnt know they needed to be zipped and had already rar´d them 2: they came in lighter when rar´d then zipped... alot lighter... small arms was 26megs zipped and 20megs rar´d...

How do you "un-rar" a .rar file? COG
Oddball_E8
why, by using winrar of course... get it here
Paul Hammond
Hi, Which one do I need to download to do the mods? Thanks.
Captain_Thunder
Originally posted by Paul Hammond: Hi, Which one do I need to download to do the mods? Thanks. You definitely need WinZip to extract the files you download from the Combat Mission Mod Database website.
Oddball_E8
Well my mod is both in .zip and .rar format... because .rar compresses it more (afaik) and because cmmods only takes .zip files i had to put the .rar files in a .zip... messy huh? so get both winzip and winrar (or just winace... i think it handles both .zip and .rar files) hmmm... no feedback yet? (cept for the .zip-.rar thing that is)
Panzerfest
From what heard very good work, but I havn't heard them in game yet im having trouble getting them installed, cant get either the .rar or zip files to work with Mcmmm and theyre listed as 'info only' I dont want to just overwrite the files or manually back them up. any tips

It's the only archiver that I have, it will handle all formats actually.

Totally excellent dude! Honestly I can't compare with the original sounds, as I'm not going to troll through each file and compare, but I just played through a few PBEM turns with your mods installed and the sounds were great. This one is defintely a "keep 'er".

MAsta_KFC
From what I've heard so far, excellent stuff, Oddball. I especially love the casualty and close combat sounds. Some of them sounds on the verge of comical when you're listening to it by itself, but in the heat of battle sounds quite good. Well done again!!
phil stanbridge
Do you have a sound map file at all? Generally they are excellent, but if I may be so bold, the sniper rifle firing off several shots gets a tad annoying. I can see why you've made it like that though - good idea, it just irritates me unfortunately.
Oddball_E8
Well phil youre in luck... i just forgot to include my alternatives from CMBB... if you download the FatherOfNoneSoundmod_alternatives from CMMODS (on the CMBB section of course) you can use one with only one shot being fired...
phil stanbridge
mate, can you tell me which file I need to download then? I dont fancy hogging the bandwidth and downloading them all.
manu1
These sounds are great. They make the game sound much more "meaty". Many thanks for these.

MAsta_KFC
just noticed something while playing the game more with the new sounds. Does the Kar98 really sound like that in real life? In the sound mod sorta sounds weak compared to the other guns.
Oddball_E8
it does? well i just changed it because in the old mods i have used the sound from Medal of Honor (i think) but since all the nations rifles sounded the same, i decided to use another sound... personally i have fired a Kar98k (swedish version tho... 6.5mm) and cant really describe the sound... thing is, you are always too close to hear it well when firing... but if you think the sound is weak, just download the old mod and rename the rifle sounds... the numbers are in the readme and in the new version the numbers are 00002060+ i think... either that or 000002070+
